14/12/2017 08:56 | Does anyone know whether mining licences have to be re-negotiated if the company changes ownership? I would assume this to be the case. If so, this would make being taken out by a larger miner less likely (a good thing imo). | horneblower
14/12/2017 08:22 | Let’s not forget TM’s quote in respect of copper at the Investor meeting last December” “You have not seen anything yet, when copper goes it really goes” The blue touch paper has been lit for copper pricing but let’s not forget he was referring to when ARS will be producing or about to produce copper from BKM in 2019. This coincides with accelerating growth worldwide of EV’s including trucks and public vehicles. This will a perfect storm era for ARS and IMO 2019 could see an approach to acquire us. | adorling
14/12/2017 07:04 | Interesting article. I’d be expecting some supply disruption next year from the various union negotiations. | mr roper

13/12/2017 22:45 | adorling of course you are right. The Buffet thing though, well it makes me wince as I have deep personal scars (it was quoted now and again on certain gkp threads over the years and we all know where that ended). it's also why talk of 'no brainers' and share price competitions leave me cold. I should probably be in therapy. ;) No problems for me here though unless I am told by the company otherwise. Still very excited for 2018. | scarymonster

13/12/2017 22:12 | Well said Adorling. We've had a great 12 months. We are on a bit of a dip due to newsflow delays but I have know doubt this will come good in 2018. If I had any spare cash I would be topping up like I did at 10.88 and 9.25. | barneycosmo
13/12/2017 21:51 | Scary - Buffet is a value investor! The 2 biggest reasons I built my stake and invested in ARS were the commodities cycle beginning to turn in 2016 and particularly copper and the reputation of Tony Manini and his track record. Nothing has changed in 2 years for me apart from being proved right so far! | adorling
13/12/2017 21:48 | Nice steady rise from Copper off the bottom from $2.95Anyone know if the Indonesians celebrate Christmas early??....Some nice buying opps at these levels.Shame we missed a great chance to jump higher in November.Good luck all | mattjwhity
13/12/2017 20:45 | Unless your invested in certain oil companies where patience can leave you with nothing. ;( but that's a different game. I just don't like the buffet analogy much because of this. I prefer to think of the underlying value partnered with good management to unlock that value. | scarymonster
13/12/2017 20:23 | Nicely summarised HG. Investing Patience in ARS will deliver incredible rewards and returns. All this short term frustration is just that. Many AIM investors expect RNS’s daily and returns of 1000% in a week. They are the ones that have now migrated to the bubble that is Bitcoin. PATIENCE - the most important lesson in investing......as proclaimed by that guy called Buffet...he is worth a few bob as they say! | adorling

13/12/2017 15:14 | It's very odd. I have never heard of an exploration licence being converted to an exploitation licence. I thought a new mining permit would have been issued. Maybe it's peculiarity of Indonesia. But I do think that some clarification would be in order. | charles clore
13/12/2017 14:54 | Despite this seemingly long gap in communications and steady slow trickle of daily selling that's going on, I'm certain there's a lot of hard work going on in the background that just hasn't yielded RNS worthy/ready communications. Whilst this offers no comfort to many I'm very relaxed about where we are and where we've come from in the last 6 months. It would be irrelevant to speculate when we will hear any further news from the BOD at this stage but it's safe to say they're not sitting on their hands and they are fully acute to the reasons for the recent share price dip. I understand why a lot of people here and elsewhere have been left frustrated at the loss of traction on the share price action. Steve Hughes aside, let's not forget that TM and PB did mention by the end of the year for granting of the licence - I think they deserve the chance to at least deliver to this time-frame before anyone can legitimately lose confidence in this team, especially considering their excellence performance to date. The one thing that does confuse me though is why they (very subtly I might add) would update their presentation with a change of wording on the licence status but have not done so on the website towards the bottom of the homepage. Bizarre. | tektonik
13/12/2017 13:47 | In full agreement with your post MT, however, he also made mention about digging gold out of the ground and selling it to the market when prices are low and mining is unprofitable. He stated that you may as well leave it in the ground until prices are high... otherwise all you have is a hole in the ground where the gold was. I think in this case Tony Manini and Peter Bird we're paying attention to Warren Buffett!!(Copper/Gol | mrpiggy
13/12/2017 13:42 | Who's selling? I just added another 164K at under the mid price! | mount teide
13/12/2017 13:29 | All those selling on no news will no doubt want to be back in on news breaking. Sadly it will be at a healthy premium to those sell prices. News could drop any day and ARS are well aware of that and investor frustrations at recent guidance on newsflow. Sit tight and wait for the fireworks to begin! | adorling
13/12/2017 13:28 | 'It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you'll do things differently.' Warren Buffett Extremely wise words - Trust is a very precious commodity and should be guarded like Fort Knox. One of the investment attractions of ARS from the initial research i carried out was the management reputation for transparency and delivering against pre-advised operational timetables. Sadly, for the first time since investing management have put their hard earned and enviable reputation in this connection at risk - they should reflect on Warren's extremely sound advice and get back to issuing statements and making verbal forecasts that are accurate and deliverable. | mount teide
13/12/2017 12:43 | Mr P, BKM will most likely have an Indo minority partner, would expect it be announced possibly alongside the financing. For Production i'd be thinking Q3/Q4, 2019. | mr roper
13/12/2017 12:40 | Agreed on all HB, would expect 2yr to be a good time frame but that will work well in our favour as copper will be flying at that point. The company have stated that we will be debt free once in production at BKM in 2.4 yrs and even at $2/Lb we I'll be profitable due to the very low strip ratio!I think they said that the 1st dollar goes on costs and the rest is profit! We can expect news on a joint venture for BKM any time soon, I think ARS stayed it was looking for an Indonesian partner!Next year should be very exciting for all LTH's but it would be nice for the company to give us a Christmas pressie and get the Grinch off our backs! | mrpiggy
13/12/2017 12:23 | Now, now MrP. Minimum 18 months before production I would have thought. 2 years more likely. However, when we get nearer to production, even at current copper prices, our share price will be multiples of where we are now. | horneblower
13/12/2017 12:17 | Wednesday would be a good day for news imho | charles clore
13/12/2017 11:37 | I'll stick my head above the parapet Dorset64/Mr R and predict copper to reach $4/lb next year as the squeeze begins rising to $6/lb in the following years when the deficit becomes reality noticeable!!Rising copper prices have got to help as we aren't that far away from producing at BKM! | mrpiggy
13/12/2017 11:27 | Still Mr P, at least copper's bouncing back again. Hopefully motion that will fall over to our share price as well. | dorset64 |
