LM I bed and ISA'ed with TD. I used the online method no telephone to avoid the extra dealing cost. Spread was about as close as you could get in the end. It'll cost a little bit but think of all the tax you'll pay otherwise and it seems so cheap lol

You can ask then to do it at whatever price you want within the spread - after all you are selling and buying it to yourself !Has to be facilitated through a market maker hence the phoning in.Just tell them to do at the bottom end. If they can't do that then time to upgrade to a different broker :)

Kind of you reply and so quickly. My dealing cost per trade is usually £12.50 but I would struggle to b&b online. At least with TD doing it I suppose it's immediate and I know what the spread is.
I suppose a couple of hundred quid (for 2lots) seems costly but cheap in the long term.

EVs starting to take off quickly. Can only be good for the copper market.

I have done quite a few bed and ISAs with TD Direct. You can either leave an order with them online and let them get on with it - this means no telephone dealing fee but might take a day or two. Otherwise call them up and they will do it on the spot - it will cost you a phone dealing fee, but often they can get you a better spread, to offset this - also if your shares are currently worth close to the ISA limit then taking the online route means the share price could run northwards and you can no longer get the number of shares you wanted into your ISA. Personally I much prefer the telephone method.

LM, I did all mine online with TDW and couldn't find fault with them. I did pay a dealing charge but you'll have to pay that wherever you go. The spread, as noted above was tiny in relation to the overall share price at the time.

I am ok with that.
Did you do the deal online? If I get TD staff to do it I think they charge £50. Thing is I need to do 2 lots (one for hubby) from a joint dealing account.

littlemadam,
Tell TD what you are doing. They are usually helpful in getting the best deal.
Friday is a quiet day so they should have time to spare.
