Ashtead Group plc ("Ashtead") today formally announces that Hugh Etheridge
resigned as a director of Ashtead as of close of business on 30 June 2014 after
ten years of service as a non-executive director.

Ian Sutcliffe who joined Ashtead in 2010 will be the Company's new senior
independent director and Wayne Edmunds, the new chairman of the Audit
Committee.
