Sorry to read that Dracula and yourself have been forced to sell your prime piece of rented real estate. I don't envy you the doorway.
Yes I agree the chart does lack a certain 'Joie de vivre' but it does have a crisp, no nonsense minimalist appeal which is in keeping with the state of the share price
I being an accommodating type will restore the colour when the share price fills the gap at 6272 in celebration. |
Mr bThanks for the clarification, as a holder I don't really care what you call it all I know is that me and the hound have now got to sell (again) our rental space on the park bench....back to the H&T doorway, brrrr.Sorry I did notice the colour change and yes it's more apt for your status and integrity....but if you don't mind me saying it's a tad bland, unlike your personality, and as you know I love to see pinks and reds and greens and yellows etc etc etc. to brighten up my day. So if you wouldn't mind! :) |
yesterdays candle was shooting star. until its negated, the risk is to test and fill the gap to c. 52. theres sup at the post gap low and if that holds it can act as a base for a retest of the high but if you get into the gap you tend to fill it or at least they try to. |

"Think we have had more than our fair share post 10th Dec!…..down still 820p (13%)" ====================================================================================
That doesn't count 'cause it wasn't a retrace it was a trend reversal. The rise off the low was close to being a 'halfback' (50% pullback).
I thought you may have commented on the chart change of candle colour. As an Elite Guru the black and white candles are more in keeping with my status. |
Good day Mr b'into each investors life a little retrace must occur.'Think we have had more than our fair share post 10th Dec!.....down still 820p (13%). Yes it may have got ahead of itself a tad but even so one has to eat. A minute retrace could be acceptable rather than a little.Have a pleasant one and as ever thanks for your pretty charts (was going to say graphs but thought better of it.....ooops I've said it now) |
Good day disc0
The share price has had a good run up from the low and 'into each investors life a little retrace must occur.'
You will observe it is just about holding on to the Fib at 5444 but has not made much effort to move back up.
AHT DAILY |
Good day Mr b"what next? A gap up or zoom through the 50% Fib and DMA200 or a retrace maybe to 5444"A retrace!, wash your mouth out :) |
50/100/200dma often create a sharp reaction and we had it today with the hod a whisker away from the 50 and just briefly abv the 200. gap by 52 quid could be filled before a rally recommences. if they go below the post gap low then that would be favourite to fill. the volume wasnt particularly strong today unlike 15/16th so the gap is a level to watch as likely to be pivotal. |
Thanks bracke. Appreciated. |

PANR
Although the share price powered through the April high it has dropped back close to testing it. If it retraces back below the April high keep an eye on it attempting to move back up but being resisted at that zone. The RSI on the daily and weekly charts is in over bought territory.

The share price went for the second option "a retrace maybe to 5444" but the long upper wick on the daily candle is indicative of a decline below 5444.
AHT DAILY |
I bought some as a punt at 31p ish, Sept 23. share price dropped so bought some more Nov 24 at 26p. Couldn't resist again at 33p, the beginning of this month. Topped up a few today..average is now circa 35p. Doubtful I will add anymore, so have set a trailing stop loss, just in case, but hope it's onwards and upwards. Still consider it volatile though, but with slightly more promise? Time and fate will tell. Meanwhile AHT has a day of teasing. What a flirt! |
Good day palwing
Yes an excellent result for those who bought PANR at or near the low in September. Those who are stranded at the higher levels will be hoping for rescue.
AHT has had a very good run over recent days but is approaching possible resistance at the 50% Fib and the DMA200. The RSI is approaching over bought.
So what next?
A gap up or zoom through the 50% Fib and DMA200 or a retrace maybe to 5444.
AHT DAILY |
the volatility was down to mkt expectations re the forecast. but due to the shares being followed in the states, any slight drop in guidance is punished severely. but there was no material change in the trend of the companys rev or earnings direction. revs were to be slightly less higher than expected. but still higher. those kinds of dips you buy. ashtead shares are often fully valued so on those rare times when its not they are always worth a look. testing the 200dma now. generally the mkt moves at least 2% away from this moving average within 48 hours esp on the first test. so expect volatility in these shares thru to the end of this week. |
Yes and I almost sold at 5000. suet |
Very pleasing to see the AHT share price recovery gathering pace. Was getting a little concerned back there for a while. And beeathe! Trump effect? Off Topic. Bracke. Did you see the PANR news? |
today 200dma by 5566 and 50dma by 5596. the cloud twist is in play til tuesday and will be aa draw at 5730 if those dmas are cleared. post gap high is 5816 and the big broken channel from covid thru 2022 lows comes in at 5860. that was a very powerful uptrend and getting above there would be v bullish. |

Sold AHT after nearly a month, 5500p |
The Trump effect, hope it lasts. |
strongly looking like 54 quid close comes in today which opens up 200dma by 5567. 50dma is not far above that and is about to cross below the 200dma in a few days, often a death cross it is called. when 50dma crosses down thru a sloping lower 200dma. however two things, this tends to get priced in in advance and often a 50 cut thru the 200 is a low and a buying op and secondly if price can move above the 50 dma this week (5612 and dropping about 15-20p per day), then that cross can be avoided and you could get a kiss where the two lines touch and diverge again. cloud twist this week at 5723, thats often a draw for price. |
Agree, but when do building costs come in below budget! - as rare as chickens teeth.Whatever it pans out to cost the point is there will be a decent uplift in plant hire requirements. |
disc0 - we must "Always look on the bright side of..... insurance receipts."
Lets hope enough of those wealthy property owners want to rebuild instead of move to Texas... |
MLK Day tomorrow so US closed.....is that a sign for Mr T? |
fennersJust read an article which suggests the LA fires rebuild cost is circa $250bn, so two-thirds higher than the $150bn you mentioned earlier. So potentially $337m pa for AHT. |
Good luck all |
Closed my AHT position and a few more to lock profits in what has been a very good week.
Come Tuesday morning I may have to regret my action and buy back to ride this uptrend. |
