18/3/2014 18:41 | Not saying it has been sold or not but people do illegal stuff all the time the art is not getting caught I guess. So yep if you think insider trading don't go on just because it is illegal you are being a touch naive. | werty5
18/3/2014 17:11 | "picobird 18 Mar'14 - 16:05 - 3086 of 3087 0 0 Volume over one million today. Looks like it could signal that Travel has been effectively sold." Wouldn't that be insider trading?? How would people know the travel business had been sold if it hasn't been announced? Perhaps I'm very naive? | rathlindri
18/3/2014 16:49 | Wow a blue day. | deanowls
18/3/2014 16:05 | Volume over one million today. Looks like it could signal that Travel has been effectively sold. Perhaps news tomorrow. Spirent have bought Dax Technologies for a huge sum. None too sure that the purchase was really necessary. There must be other ways of gauging customer feedback and more importantly getting the customers in the first place. | picobird
13/3/2014 18:53 | rathlindri The share price is hurting all of us- me included but the fundamentals of the company are really, really good. As for topping up - that was meant for 'bargain hunters', my own finances cannot stretch any further. It 's down to the Ftse, SPT has been hit too. At least Tottenham are on the box tonite. China is taking remedial action on the growth side which should help the markets. Now if I were a share holder in Morrisons I would be changing my underwear. | picobird
13/3/2014 18:39 | good luck with your top up pico, personally I won't "invest" another cent here until I see some evidence that this company is making a firm recovery. There have been plenty of weeks recently when the ftse has made decent gains while Anite continued it's slide southwards | rathlindri
13/3/2014 16:58 | Ftse down 67 points - bad week. Good time to top up. | picobird
13/3/2014 16:29 | Good luck to you werty5, hope you're right re turnaround soon | rathlindri
13/3/2014 15:31 | Well that is my stop loss hit thanks to everyone who has posted on this board. I am going to sit on the sidelines for now and will watch closely i expect i nice turn around soon and will hop on board when it happens. GLA | werty5
13/3/2014 08:34 | Gibrewog Well, I have not managed to pin the events down to specific dates yet (LOL), but if Anite does not get an offer this year, it probably will continue as an entity. I would imagine that any predator has already made preparations regarding Anite & that they would not hang around but make an offer based on projected figures & prospects. All depends on the Travel outcome. Spirent back into 2 figures today ( below 100p). So it's not just Anite. The only comfort I can give you folks is the CEO's statement last month. 'The Handset Testing business enters the important final quarter in a similar position to twelve months ago with an expectation of a comparable level of order intake and revenue supported by a strong pipeline of opportunities. ' ---& that was a mega quarter ! | picobird
13/3/2014 08:11 | Picobird - thanks for your latest thoughts and predictions which seem very plausible. Do you have a timeframe for these events? | gibrewog
13/3/2014 06:41 | It is a frustrating time for shareholders of this stock. Even Spirent fell yesterday by 5p. A lot of investors probably avoid Anite because they have no idea about the technology involved. Basic TA is useful but depending on it completely I can only imagine causes it's own problems. Anyway, this is how I see things going. A) Travel side is sold B) Acquisition announced or acquisitions C) Q4 results surprise with expectations met D) Company announces A & M offer (Buyer for Anite) Anites products are first rate & the markets want them, so we should be expecting a bright future even if the A & M does not materialise. Anite is also spearheading R & D into 5g, they are the top dog in a specified group of large companies researching 5g. | picobird
12/3/2014 19:44 | Struggle to understand the continued drop in the share price I really thought that the prospect of the sale of the travel business would have given this a lift back to the 100p region but it looks more like it is going to test its multiyear lows again. | salpara111
12/3/2014 16:49 | When is the q4 statement? | rlivsey
12/3/2014 10:35 | China is starting to kick in, so from 01/05/2014 we will have yet another market to benefit from. In the meanwhile we all await Q4 which I suspect will be good. 140p would be nice to see again. With a bit of luck, expectations will be met for the year. I think there is a good chance the shareholders may not get to see the 14/15 figures if a predator buys what's left after travel. Spirent sharply down today. | picobird
12/3/2014 10:18 | I was wondering the same ....? | rathlindri
12/3/2014 10:00 | Well, if last year was purely an abberation then things should get back to normal this year so why should the share price not return to the 140 region? | salpara111
11/3/2014 15:02 | Made for interesting reading. Notice today that Jefferies have increased the target price for SPT to 108p from 103p. They already have AIE at 110p. | picobird
10/3/2014 22:35 | Worth a read : | gerardp
09/3/2014 14:48 | Picobird When I say the market didn't like the deal I am going from the drop in share price Once again thank you for your comprehensive replies they show your great knowledge and insight of the sector. I begin to realise my lack of knowledge and understanding, so will continue as a small holder and keep an eye on your posts and developments, before I Add. cheers | 2flatpack
09/3/2014 14:08 | 2Flatpack I have not heard about the market views on the Propsim deal. As Anite said:--- The acquisition is in line with Anite's strategy to expand its product portfolio within Performance testing. Propsim radio channel emulators are designed to replicate wireless environments and isolate performance issues of wireless equipment to ensure better functionality of broadband wireless technologies such as 4G / LTE. ------- -------- ---------- ------------ -------- So from Anite's point of view the acquisition was fairly vital. Acquisitions in this sector are extremely vital to keep ahead of competitors with the technology that 'does the job'. That is the reason why Bill Burns got the boot from Spirent. It is also why Spirent has such huge cash reserves. Apparently he had not been pursuing acquisitions quickly enough & Spirent suffered as a result. So one can safely assume that is the reason why the Travel division of Anite is being sold. They need the cash for acquisitions but as a spin off from selling Travel they will probably be taken over. Spirent are a bit of a powerhouse having eight R & D centres in the world. Their largest is in China. Rhode & Swartz, Agilent & Spirent are the three companies helping in rolling out 4g networks in China. From memory China is spending $45 billion on mobile networks. They are spending much greater amounts on Smart Grid technology which puts them ahead of the US in terms of efficient power usage. So taken in this context, Anite are still fairly small although growing but would be a tasty morsel for one of the bigger players. I think we can expect a statement very soon from Anite over the Travel sale. I forgot to mention that Huawei have 7000 people in their R & D division in Sweden. Compare that to the 200 staff that Spirent have in China. So we have new players in the game, Huawei being the biggest. | picobird
09/3/2014 13:22 | picobird once again thanks A very good under stated interview ,I liked the little name drop (China mobile) it all looks to be coming together . As I said I have been looking back. The market did not like the Propsim deal in Jan 13. the price does look high for the business or was it something else they were after R&D or intellectual property . Have you any ideas on this. Cheers | 2flatpack |
