09/3/2014 07:26 | Paul Beaver discussing the trends in wireless testing at the MWC 2014. Note he says that Anite is pushing the bounds of technology in categories 5/6/7, & that a lot of innovation is now coming out of China. | picobird
08/3/2014 13:08 | Picobird I have looking back at the reasons why I first invested and find them all intact. The last H1 results seem to be major factor in the negativity that is common on the thread. My self, I see it as the normal up and down of business. The previous Full Year was good, the outlook is good and from your posts the R&D is going well. Travel which I looked upon as a sideline, used as takeover protection has become a solid visible earner. I am very positive, We are well placed in an expanding market with the correct whistles and bells. What has SPT's or even our own short term share price to do with investment decisions. I hope the bod do have a plan and are not selling Travel just to show some movement. If its not broke don't fix it. I am happy with the board to date ,so I give them the benefit of any doubt. AIE for me is a Hold but I am thinking of adding. cheers | 2flatpack
08/3/2014 09:39 | 2flatpack Anite has over many years had traditional 'quiet' quarters which comes as a bit of a surprise to many newbies. The problem this year has been Blackberry & companies delaying their expenditure. I also feel that Anite is tired of being a poor relation to cash rich Spirent & will push the Travel side sale through to rectify that. They can then push on with expanding the company. Spirent has a capitalisation twice that of Anite as they have been in the business for a very long time. | picobird
07/3/2014 21:20 | picobird Thanks for the quick responce. The more I look, I find the market AIE operate in volatile and more unpredictable than I had thought. This high tec area of the market is new to me. My only other high tec share is IQE which I find easier to understand. cheers | 2flatpack
07/3/2014 20:13 | picobird from your post 3038 You imply the sale of travel is to raise funds for research and not a For Sale sign going up. From your research do you see an specific area that needs an urgent investment or is it a general requirement for capex . cheers | 2flatpack
07/3/2014 19:33 | IC is a bit of a rag for investors much like the Sun on the newspaper front. Jefferies called SpT 'complacent' & with the board remaining the same ( or worse in fact ) the company is never going to be dynamic. Their EpS dropped from 12p to 5p in 2013. While I accept that IT professionals normally make for poor management, just how many non technical board members does a company really need to fill that position. Huawei is their main client in China, but for how long ? The share price of Spirent is lower than it was 4 years ago. If they could not capitalise on new technology during that time then they have got a problem. Having said that I still expect them to do fairly well in the coming year. | picobird
07/3/2014 16:15 | I've never found IC to be reliable. I usually consider doing the opposite. They may get some things correct but they also get a lot wrong. | nomdeplume
07/3/2014 14:51 | IC made a slightly disparaging comparison between us and Spirent today. Doesn't help. | irenekent
07/3/2014 13:47 | LOL, these abbreviations are always catching me out :-). I agree Irene, a matter of waiting. Their technology & toolset has become very strong so in theory we should be flying. | picobird
07/3/2014 13:35 | Pico, As one ancient to another it would be nice to get something out of this company before its too late! | irenekent
07/3/2014 10:17 | werty5 Seems a case of infringement of civil liberties to stop dob's or even bod's posting. Cheers | 2flatpack
07/3/2014 09:39 | Lol unless pico is on the bod in which case it is a bad case of insider trading. | werty5
07/3/2014 08:29 | picobird My bod was not you but the board of directors. Always read and enjoy your posts, its great to read original research and insights keep up the good work. cheers | 2flatpack
06/3/2014 17:57 | So what are we saying here? Is this going to help business grow? More customers etc? Do the Chinese like it? | mbmiah
06/3/2014 11:58 | I had a tight stop loss planned; with the share price falling under the support, I felt I needed to sell and take the 10% loss. However I didn't!!!!I hope I won't regret that decision. Some good news was a nice sight and step in the right direction hopefully | rlivsey
06/3/2014 09:43 | Good News:------ Note that they also showcased their SAS Volte solution, pretty mega fantastic stuff. Anite plc : Anite wins GTI Innovation Award for industry-leading test system 03/06/2014 | 03:15am US/EasternRecommend: 0 Anite's interoperability and performance test solution (SAS) is recognised for leading TD-LTE features Anite, a global leader in wireless equipment testing technology, today announced that it was presented with a second Innovation Award at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014 by the Global TD-LTE Initiative (GTI) in recognition of its outstanding contribution to TD-LTE development. This year's award is for Anite's interoperability and performance test solution (SAS), used by leading mobile operators and device manufacturers to accelerate the evaluation and launch of new devices. Anite's SAS was recently selected by a major Chinese mobile operator for its TD-LTE device acceptance programme. As TD-LTE is deployed across China, the industry's focus is on quality of service and the need for performance testing, including verifying voice quality. SAS enables users to conduct detailed IMS/VoLTE testing against specific mobile operators' requirements. In addition, precise, automated and repeatable performance testing measures and optimises data throughput, impact of signalling and antenna performance. Paul Beaver, Products Director at Anite, accepted the award at a GTI event during MWC 2014, 'We are honoured to receive this prestigious GTI Test System Innovation Award. Working closely with the key industry players within the TD-LTE industry ecosystem highlights Anite's pivotal role in one of the most exciting and rapidly growing global markets.' As the only vendor with a live product demonstration at the GTI Workshop, which preceded MWC 2014, Anite showcased its SAS VoLTE solution to the TD-LTE community. Anite's wide range of performance testing solutions were on display at MWC 2014, including its enhanced Propsim channel emulator platform, which further increases the performance testing capacity of LTE-Advanced multi-mode chipsets, devices and base stations. | picobird
05/3/2014 17:10 | Good to see some former PACE holders here I also have sold out 50% of my holding in Pace today to release some capital. As far as Anite is concerned will only take a small bit of good news to light the touch paper. I will work this share the same as I did with Pace start off small and average up. | werty5
05/3/2014 16:10 | Just looking at forecasts in the region of 5p for 2014 and 7.2p for 2015. This puts the share on a very undemanding ratio, so that if the news is as the company says, we should see a 25% rise in the sp | prokartace
05/3/2014 14:46 | Cheers brando, always interesting to have a look at what others are doing. Apols for OT..Anyone in HHR? | rathlindri
05/3/2014 14:44 | STY and IQE worth considering I think. I hold the former but not the latter at present | brando69
05/3/2014 14:35 | er....I thought we HAD fallen off a cliff??? Have a look at the one year chart...looks like we bounced a few times on the way down but we're still rolling downwards...that's why some are not happy. If I had sold out at virtually any time since this time last year (apart from a week last October) I would be better off than now...sorry for whinging btw Good to see some fresh debate and views here today | rathlindri
05/3/2014 14:35 | yes I just sold Pace and have a huge cash position. Now looking for the next 10 Paces to buy | prokartace
05/3/2014 14:23 | i treat this as a blessing i like to have one or two stocks that i am confident in but that don't get dragged up by the market momentum... means when i make a hefty wad elsewhere eg. on pace or thorntons, i can start reinvesting for a big recovery curve elsewhere | brando69 |
