All the good news in the world has never had very much positive effect on Anite's share price Having been with the share since the £3 days and through the 14p days, I'd still show a healthy profit if I sold today. However, I really believe the company is special and should be seen as such in the market but they have the stage presence of "The Invisible Man"; if you know what they are doing, they look awesome but if you're the average investor who doesn't, you won't even notice them. Their only chance for increasing the share price is to predict immense profits and back it up with a huge dividend! Otherwise it's a penny here and a penny there on the share price with mountain high sticking points based more on numerological superstition and the significance of round numbers rather than company activity. |
I agree entirely! |
Yes a great share. My sentiment is the same over Anite but I am trading a little as well. One or two others have commented about the need to be active. They are right.
DonnyDave - you will have to get used to the lulls in the Anite share price 95p is a sticking point which will need some strong news to push through. Other than that the Y/E is 30/04 & the results should be really good. Well worth the wait. |
Anites still on the up in my opinion . |
Nice dip in SPT share price today - ex div day :-)) |
02/03/2015 A quite amazing acquisition of Setcom. Saves R&D costs, complements Anites business, expands into an adjacent market & increases the customer base plus 1300 certifications.
Acquisition of Trade and Assets of Setcom Wireless Products GmbH
A German firm which is a great plus, based in Munich with 25 staff. Bargain buy, about €3 mill. Anite needs to be congratulated yet again.

Yes I agree. They are going to have a quiet H1 though with weighting in H2. It is a situation that has been going on for quite a while, the scope for trading these stocks on a quarterly basis. SPT have a lot of wisdom in the boardroom (old age, like me) & could do with a couple of faces that are below 65. Not totally convinced of women in the boardroom either (cries of horrer). They are big enough to readjust around problems but not really agile enough to produce their own custom software/solutions in the Anite fashion. Looking at their figures for the last 5 years they are in decline. Probably a very good time to buy in but I think they will need more time before they make inroads into rectifying that. Spirent is a very popular stock but the price varies widely between the brokers from 80p to 143p. Looking at the news flow for both companies recently it has been all Anite which makes a change. Should anything significant be announced I want to be holding Anite. |
Spirent is a better stock atm |

Going to be an interesting day tomorrow with the 2014 Spirent results due out. Not expecting figures to be much different from the estimates. The share price finished strongly today at 88p & there should be enough momentum to take it up a few pence tomorrow. I have a small quantity of these which will hopefully be switched to AIE this week. SPT are in a transitional mode but Anite have run that course already. I got into SPT this week in order to catch up with Anite due to a late receipt from HMCE. SPT has been down to 84p this week ! Strange how things work out as these last five months I have cashed in my serps contracted out fund & now it's down to me to try & push it up a bit ! Both companies have bright futures but that latest bit of news from AIE (above) is truly revolutionary. The Spirent revenues should please coming in at $455 mill (per estimates) but I feel the EBIT could fall short by a few percentage points from the estimates due to acquisition costs. So the profit may be down very slightly but the outlook will be painted brightly by the management. If the price makes 95p that will be a decent result.
26/02/2015 Latest. Well the revenue came in at $457 mill, while the estimated EBIT were a few points down on estimates of $28 mill at $24 mill. Not keen on hearing about 'headwinds' in a financial statement so will be interesting to see market reaction today. Brokers seem to have it right. Anite have the edge on them now regarding virtualization drive testing with their latest toolset release.
SPT - Interesting, big buys of 2.6 mill at 88p in first hour, followed by tree shake tactics. Well, I swapped my shares to Anite for a tiny gain but could have made more money if I had done it in a couple of days time. FWIW- Although Spirent have an order book of 103 they have got off to a slower start than last year (see presentation notes). In the meanwhile Anite are trading full out re Q4 !!! |
24/02/2015 Well it's finally arrived, the virtual drive testing toolset.
Anite introduces Virtual Drive Testing Toolset for real-world automated performance testing in the lab
Brilliant news !!! |
Thanks Picobird. Glad to see Anite moving in the right direction at last.
Gp |
Canaccord 106p, Northland 120p, Panmure 142p.
& they have a lot of catching up to match where the FTSE is now.
(Just an apology to Geraldp for last week believing that IC had tipped AIE - an honest mistake ! Strangely enough I am buying some prescription reading glasses which is purely coincidental) |
Yep still got my holding in anite. Won,t be long before they hit £1.00 level. |
More like it |
looks like I bought at right time ;-) |
Chart beginning to look extremely attractive. Breaks through one year high and others might start to get interested. Forward PE doesn't equal forward eps growth until price is at 110p. So looks ok to me. |
![](https://images.advfn.com/static/default-user.png) Hi pico, Didn't realise you had been around these quite as long as you state. Very different company today from the original one founded in the sixties. In those days they were high precision metal bashers building the first computer casings for the old GPO when it was a telephone company. Interesting that they are still involved with telephones albeit on a very different level of expertise. I am convinced that Anite are moving finally into a world beating position for testing and monitoring of all aspects of wireless connectivity. There is still the 'internet of things' to consider which must open many new avenues for the company to exploit. In the early days they had a connection with the defence sector - I wonder if this still exists. Plenty of scope for the advancement of the business in China and the rest of Asia as well as the US. Just hope they don't get their intellectual property ripped off by those who are less bothered by the protection that a patent is supposed to give. Hopefully Anite's R & D is so ahead of the game that by the time something is nicked its out of date anyway!
Definitely onwards and upwards. DYOR |

Anite strengthens its drive test, handheld and in-building measurement portfolio with enhanced forcing and IMS features
A first again, testing video over Lte. |
I,m looking at buy sell levels of around £1.20 versus a stop Loss of say 70p. But can,t see white seeing 70p levels again unless something cataclysmic happens. |
Anite is a much stronger company now to a few years ago. So with market conditions looking good they should go great guns especially in Q4. They have cutting edge toolsets together with high barriers to entry. The seminar notes explain much of their game plan. Takes a few readings with all the technology involved. Still need to get my head around some of their notes. Youtube should be useful for that.
Incidentally I have been around Cray/ Anite since the early nineties. The BOD are 24 carat. Been a lot of changes along the way but we seem to be entering the Wow factor stage. LOL. |
Hit around 70p level only a few months ago. I myself originally bought at around 90p and sold at a loss (they hit my stop loss level). Don,t think that will happen this time though, |
"Bet those who invested in anite at 60p level have a big smile on there faces now"
In 2011 you mean?? |
