30/9/2016 07:59 | Chinese investors, both private and state-backed, have ruined some smaller companies - no doubt - but these guys at ASA have applied themselves in a very difficult environment and are pulling the company around IMO.As above post, they also backed their own judgement at 4-5p and the company is moving quickly back from the edge of total collapse - I say good for them!I only wish I'd bought more at 0.70p - ASA was already back on the radar of several major investors! | bashers2
29/9/2016 21:59 | So sell rec was wrong call.. lolBloody useless .. for traders not investors .. | jailbird
29/9/2016 20:59 | I just want my money back and a profit. Never trust an African or Chinese. | mreasygoing
29/9/2016 19:39 | <<A lot of people here are very judgmental an prejudiced. Why cannot Ning as an investor like you and me expect a good return for his money?>> The standard practice of AIM listed companies is that the main owners do very nicely thank you and the other shareholders get shafted. Leopards, particularly in Africa do not change their spots! | timgw
29/9/2016 17:48 | It is as simple as this. Ning and his backer paid big money at about an average price of 4 to 5 p a share about 4 to 5 years ago. If it were you what return would you expect from a risky investment like this. I would not accept anything less than 20% compound, so from Ning's point of view he must foresee a share price north of 10 p or even a lot more in the next one or two years to justify his investment and hard work. A lot of people here are very judgmental an prejudiced. Why cannot Ning as an investor like you and me expect a good return for his money? | riskvsreward
29/9/2016 13:15 | Thanks jacks. I found it. Pity, as I was hoping it was a present from the bod ! | dumbo4
29/9/2016 12:45 | Open offer Sep 2015 - but you would have to have subscribed. | jacks13
29/9/2016 12:04 | Question. I have been in ASA (MWA) since '09 and find that I have 25260 shares in my account for which I have no record. This is not a number I would ever buy in the market. Was there ever a rights issue ? Thanks. | dumbo4
29/9/2016 11:48 | Stig - I share your sentiment - I was initially sceptical of new management as it was a very uncertain time, but with appointment of new Nomad back in 2015 I began to change my mind - the last year has reconfirmed this. Some seem entrenched in their views and can't simply hold their hands up and say with hindsight they were wrong. I forgot to mention at the AGM I believe share price Angel are already working on a report/ broker note which will put ASA further on investors' radars. ASA's first priority has been operational and getting the houses in order. Now things are on track they have room to breathe and drum up investor sentiment. This is clearly on the agenda with Niall Henry's appointment to the board and share price Angel as new Nomad & Broker in June 2016. | redtrend
29/9/2016 10:57 | The Chinese Management are engaged and active... we have always had assets worth potentially $1000m+ here We badly needed Management who could communicate that and bring that value out This shows they are planning exactly that 29/09/2016 07:00 ASA Resource Group PLC Trading update, Co Sec & Director dealing 27/09/2016 15:37 ASA Resource Group PLC Result of AGM 27/09/2016 11:25 ASA Resource Group PLC Board Changes 23/09/2016 08:45 ASA Resource Group PLC Trading Update and it gives confidence this is just the start Potential now for a virtuous circle/spiral of the Company delivering , the share price going up and giving currency for further investment and realisation of value... and the share price going up and giving currency for further investment and realisation of value etc etc | the stigologist
29/9/2016 10:51 | Kalaa Mpinga was too interested in empire building. I was very disappointed in his record. I didn't trust the Chinese at first but they put real money into the Company and they gave Mpinga time to deliver. He didn't. As far as I can see they are doing a great job and actually talking about shareholder value. | the stigologist
29/9/2016 10:50 | Kaala was a wholly!! | trevorm2
29/9/2016 10:28 | Hindsight has proven Dearing correct, in Mwana/ ASA requiring a fresh approach. Had we carried on "as is", the company probably wouldn't exist and all shareholders would have been wiped out | redtrend
29/9/2016 10:17 | Top riser this am. at least 2.2p today. | blueball
29/9/2016 10:02 | Looks like he is doing a good job | juju44
29/9/2016 09:52 | Guess who the new company secretary is ?.... Dearing ! The very same Dearing I presume who organised the shareholder revolt that put Ning in control of the company. Very, very smelly. Minority shareholders will remain cannon fodder. Fundamentals are irrelevant. | gfrae
29/9/2016 09:48 | Plas - at moment ASA have an offtake agreement with Glencore for untreated nickel ore where they receive equivalent of 65% of nickel spot price. With the various treated nickel concentrates options available to ASA with the Smelter, they will receive equivalent of 85% of Nickel Spot price. This is how I understood it from the AGM Q&A session. They are still to finalise what treated nickel option route they will focus on, based on customers base, agreements etc. | redtrend
29/9/2016 09:44 | As I understand it, we currently just produce concentrate and receive 65% of current LME spot for it. Shipping cost would also come down too. | skidaddle
29/9/2016 09:33 | On that point it says "when the smelter is fully operational our payability is expected to improve from current 65% to c. 85% of the LME market spot price"Can anyone explain that in plain English please? | plasybryn |
