14/9/2016 21:10 | Hazl - completely agree. Far better for all assets to remain under the ASA umbrella. People seem to be discounting just how big a gamechanger the restart of the smelter is. Far more value than Freda. You would see none of that upside if you just invested in the gold side. I originally invested in ASA for the gold (Mwana back in the day), but now I stay invested because of both the gold and nickel And for now you can't compare really compare Freda to CMCL. CMCL has AISC of less than 1000 (that is our aim so hopefully we get there), has cash in the bank (no debt I believe) and pays a dividend. But it does show the huge potential of what ASA can achieve, hopefully in the very near future! | redtrend
14/9/2016 18:39 | Stig I came into it for the gold. I see the basic resources taking longer to recover. I agree its a brilliant asset but I would rather it was kept under ASA's GENERAL umbrella or it would mean jumping from this to the new vehicle. I was in a diamond company that did something similar. This way we can keep seeing a rising share-price as Gold does well. If the basics do better, then again, the share has that to support it. That's what I meant. imo | hazl
14/9/2016 10:39 | I think Ning and his backers have ambition and vision for asa. The Chinese is not short of money and Ning with his contacts can tap that money easily. However, consider Ning and his backers has invested in asa over many years paid on average of 4-5 p, he needs new money into this at least north of 5 p. As long as the macro-picture for Gold and commodity price moves in right direction, we should see this to move quickly to 4-5 p and then maybe new money in for greater things. | riskvsreward

14/9/2016 10:21 | An announcement of ASA Gold IPO would be huge news Imagine if they list it in China ! CMCL is producing 40-50k oz p.a. in Zimbabwe and is valued at £60m ASA Gold producing 80k+ p.a. could be valued at £120m by itself ? You could be looking at a 5 bag just on the Gold assets | the stigologist

14/9/2016 07:16 | wow also in the report and accounts had not noticed this before The Group has impressive gold-mining and exploration assets in both Zimbabwe and the DRC. These assets would dwarf the current combined value of the Group if they were valued independently and on a pure book value basis. In order to unlock the true value of these assets, Asa Group is exploring the possibility of listing a separate gold subsidiary, Asa Gold. This plan is part of the Group’s constant drive to increase shareholder value. It is also based on the fact that some investors discount multi-commodity miners, since they do not offer exposure to one metal. | the stigologist

09/9/2016 11:59 | Thanks 26dollars It was private conversation with previous FD of ASA who gave me the steer on the PGM upside. Agree also on Zani Kodo. Significant latent value there. Its DRC comparitors traded on Canadian market Kilo Goldmines and Loncor are valued at c.$20-30m Lots of value catalysts here. | the stigologist |
