11/3/2016 14:55 | My take on the accounts. Despite revenue growth being expected to slow in the next couple of years, it is still expected to be up well over 10% and that is on improving operating margins of 41.9% in FY15 compared to 30% in 2011. As a result of this, EBIT has been growing even faster than the fast paced revenue growth. This is a company which is not only growing sales and profit but also growing in efficiency. There were 1348 licences sold by the end of FY15 compared to 1174 in 2014, 1012 in 2013, 891 in 2012, 781 in 2011 and 660 at the end of 2010. In the meantime the market share of the 15 billion devoces shipped stood at 32% at the end of FY15 compared to 22% in 2011. A cash return on invested capital of 23.9% means for every £100 of invested capital (debt and equity) the company generated £23.90 in Free Cash Flow. This is up from 2011 from 17.1%. | steptoes yard

10/3/2016 18:58 | ... the first in Britain to use sensors made by ARM ... Really? First I've heard of ARM going into manufacturing real hardware rather than licensing their processor technology and some associated activities such as supply software development toolkits... Put another way, the journalist concerned is showing strong signs of not having a clue! Gengulphus | gengulphus
09/3/2016 18:18 | 'ARM strengthens its hand by moving into the concrete jungle' thanks to DaveHuges in iii m/board for posting 7th march Times newspaper The closest that most smartphones will get to concrete is when someone drops their device on to the ground and shatters the screen. Nevertheless, the construction industry has turned to the same technology that has driven the smartphone revolution to cut millions of pounds from the cost of pouring concrete on big building projects. A scheme starting in London next month will be the first in Britain to use sensors made by ARM, the Cambridge-based chip designer, attached to reinforced bars in the concrete or full article here: | philanderer

03/3/2016 08:44 | See if interested - but be warned that much of it is far more ambitious than likely uses of neural networks in ARM's business, both on scale and with regard to moderately accurate simulation of how biological neurons behave (normal microprocessor components are nothing like them). On the scale, for instance, see , especially its last section: "106 machine The 106 machine will comprise 10 19" rack cabinets each similar to the 105 machine. It will have 1,036,800 ARM processor cores, typically deployed as 921,600 application processors, 21,600 Monitor Processors and 21,600 spares. This machine will require a 100kW (approx.) 240V supply and an air-conditioned environment. The control and I/O interfaces are to be defined." It will be quite a while before something like that fits on a mobile-phone-sized device! Though from various numbers gathered from the Spinnaker site, I estimate that it will still only be the equivalent of about 20% of what you carry around in your head... Gengulphus | gengulphus

01/3/2016 17:05 | Ran into resistance in the 1010/1015 area as envisaged and I expect the pivot supports to undergo some testing in the next few days. Interestingly the today started with a lower open at first pivot support and then it bulldozed through to resistance. Traders would be wise to wait now rather than to pile in and let the stochastics burn some fuel. A good entry point for a trade is 945/960 whereas LTHS should continue to accumulate | steptoes yard

29/2/2016 13:36 | Looks like the 1010/1015 resistance area will be tested on this run which surprised me a little but it will be tough going getting through there. One can expect a stair step down to 950 over the course of the next x trading days which is a nice range to accumulate for traders or LTH purchases. | steptoes yard |
