As an ongoing survivor of metastasized prostate cancer I can tell you the answer is no .When this happens to you the first thing you learn is that all cancers are different with different treatments and different prognoses..

Harpoon up another 10% and Aura bouncing up 7.5%. This is basically thrown in for free on current valuation

The point with this stock as I see it is that it is currently trading at such a small premium to net cash that the downside must surely be limited from here and if one of the investments works out anything like as well as the other one (the name escapes me) that was sold for a hefty premium then there may be very substantial upside.

I know that the cash may get invested but with the fall in valuations for Biotechs they should be able to invest at far keener prices than a year ago so that is also something to be optimistic about.

I have a shareholding here and i'm currently happy to hold.

@Sphere25 - understood and absolutely agreed on the DYOR mantra.

No problem daemonfunds.

I stick on some commentary from time to time. It can clearly be wrong, its not meant as advice of course. Looking at the US is not something that I really want to do because you want to focus more on the UK. The problem is they're so influential that they can affect our positions here, outside of ARIX of course. It's hard to put on trades without watching what is happening over there and keeping track of key events.

We can easily put on a trade here, but then the futures in the US can tank overnight, so that trade wasn't even a starter. The other thing is it's hard for the UK markets to bottom without having the US bottom too. Their downturn is later than ours but the US tentacles are so far stretching, they could drag us down even more.

They're more bullish at the moment though the charts are suggesting it is a bear market rally with prices approaching or hitting the top of the bearish trend lines. Clearly tomorrow after the close is going to be important and some of the move has been on the back of murmurings of a less hawkish stance. That doesn't resonate considering prior statements so is the US going to drop back abit?

It might just end up in a range. I think the S&P should be low 3000's but they're far more bullish than I am. Ultimately, this bullish turn has fed through to all kinds of bounces out there so I thought this short term sentiment might feed through to something like ARIX and other even higher risk shares.

Whether it lasts we shall see, but that's why I mention the US alot.

It is a necessary evil.

All imo

So the chairman has bought 175k this month and Acacia have bought more bumping up from 22.4% to 25.56%, explained by that volume spike on the 18th October where they stepped in to clear sellers in size.

Ever since then there has been someone in the market mopping up the sells with the price inching higher - that might still be Acacia. Clearly that doesn't mean alot if the buyers aren't coming in to buy to bid the price higher.

There was a little surge yesterday but still no idea what that was about. I took a little nibble following that in but not alot has happened since. It's an exit if it goes stale or an add if bigger buying does happen and the price looks like breaking higher.

I don't know anything about Bioscience, I just follow the buying. Just watching the interesting buying coming in and the fact that the balance sheet cash appears to support the whole value of the company with everything else thrown in for free. Have to see how things are going forward but it looks like the bulk of the de-rating has happened, which is probably why the big players here are buying.

Maybe the market is expecting a further worsening of valuations. The Nasdaq and S&P are holding up remarkably well, that in spite of significant warning signs from numerous companies including the mega caps. No idea how they are ignoring them and continuing to be on a rich multiple in light of the impending slowdown and fighting the FED tightening.

It would be very surprising if they kept holding up.

Let's see if anything happens here.

Watch nothing happen! :-)

All imo

Anything going on here?

Tipped?

Stream of buying coming in. There was a big clear out here recently (look at the volume spike) and it has held the support so possibly a bounce candidate if it breaks 105p.

No idea if this buying is meaningful though.

All imo

You do, but that cash isn't going to be returned to you. Its going to be invested in bioscience cos. So investing or not depends on your view of that market right now and their ability to exploit it
