11/9/2019 14:34 | Sort of like morrisons mcmather. The market makers assess demand prior to a trade. Each trade is at a completely agreed price between the 2 parties. There is no such thing as an isolated buy or an isolated sell. The only thing of consequence to a share price is the trade price dealt. The size of the transaction or the identity of either party is immaterial. The market is a place of irony and contradiction. | 2tyke
11/9/2019 14:14 | The way I understand it is that if, say, you go in to Morrisons and BUY a melon, they (ie somebody else) are SELLING (that melon). Prior to that being explained to me, I must admit, I found it a difficult concept to follow. I'll let you know my understanding of the process in due course when I try to sell a melon to Morrisons. | mcmather
11/9/2019 14:06 | 2tyke nice cop out. | soulsauce
11/9/2019 13:50 | Is that what the filtered muppet said?Well, in a way he's correct because I sold some Atalaya to buy some Ariana....That's about as correct as he's got so far I believe :-) | shortarm
11/9/2019 13:39 | "Every buy is also a sell". This is also a statement that inexperienced investors often make to suggest that they are wiser than they are. You might want to consider market making more closely. | jc2706
11/9/2019 13:32 | Charles Every buy is also a sell. Mcmather Every stock or asset has it's own price pattern. A contrarian view therefore applies to a specific asset when most people are either bullish or bearish on it. But good question...it can only help understanding. | 2tyke
11/9/2019 13:05 | If it doesn't mean all gold stocks will follow / have not followed so far, is the contrarian view that AAUs share price will go ballistic when the gold price plummets? | mcmather
11/9/2019 12:52 | Not sure - MM's seem reluctant to do that at the moment...... | shortarm
11/9/2019 12:40 | We might even see a tick up today if the buying continues lol! | charles clore
11/9/2019 12:39 | Soul That's the point....you don't take me seriously. backmarker I've already explained when you'll know about the gold bull market. Brasso If i'm clearly incorrect about the gold bear market...perhaps you could explain why ? Charles You've already filtered the cheeky monkey once ! | 2tyke
11/9/2019 12:26 | Charles - I have to admit I'm in dire need of the one thing only 2tyke can supply......His absence!!! | shortarm
11/9/2019 12:19 | says I am intolerant. I am only intolerant of people who clearly have their own agenda and refuse to participate in balanced debate. I have given him the opportunity to contribute to the main thrust of this thread and he refuses to acknowledge it and instead accuses me of intolerance. Flipping cheeky monkey! Filter for you pal. | charles clore
11/9/2019 12:09 | Is that numpwit still on about the gold price? Ariana produce it for a few hundred dollars an ounce so maybe it should post somewhere where costs are triple? | shortarm
11/9/2019 12:06 | You are all allowing tyke to destroy the discussion here relevant to AAU. He is clearly incorrect about gold being in a bear market but this should not be dominating the discussion here. I suggest you all put him on filter or a Blue poster set up a new thread to moderate him. | brasso3
11/9/2019 12:04 | tyke, if we are in a gold bear market, then how will we know when it has bottomed out and a new bull market has begun | backmarker
11/9/2019 12:02 | Aren't we due an update shortly on trial mining Kizilcukur ore and a deal with Proccea? Sold into jv for 3 x exploration cost? | theduke420
11/9/2019 11:54 | Bring it on.. $1500 /oz profit ill take it! | theduke420
11/9/2019 11:44 | So you are not going to tell us what you are invested in then 2tyke. How can anyone take you seriously. | soulsauce
11/9/2019 11:39 | Xow Yes that's what citigroup should be saying about the gold price....if my view is likely to be correct. JC Gold in a bear market certainly doesn't mean all gold stocks will follow. Again you either mis-understand or are being mischievous. Charles et al Your usual tolerance is wavering. Ask yourself...why now ? | 2tyke
11/9/2019 11:08 | Credit Bloomberg for above. | xow98
11/9/2019 11:07 | It doesn't matter CC. Gold is in a bear market as it hasn't broken into record territory so all gold companies will go down. | jc2706
11/9/2019 11:06 | Just to feed the beast. Citigroup: “We expect spot gold prices to trade stronger for longer, possibly breaching $2,000 an ounce and posting new cyclical highs at some point in the next year or two,” analysts including Aakash Doshi said in a note received Sept. 10. That would exceed the record of $1,921.17 set in 2011. | xow98
11/9/2019 11:05 | If he were to do some serious research into AAU I would take him more seriously. But has anyone noticed - he has not put forward one single worthwhile comment or piece of meaningful research about the company whose thread to which he is parasitically attached? I am becoming somewhat bored by it. Filter isn't far away now! | charles clore
11/9/2019 10:22 | Please stop feeding the animal | jaynesdad |
