27/3/2020 11:04 | joe, Thanks for the insight - I suspect this will all play out very badly for Trump come November, but he just needs to hang onto the electoral college votes he got last time. Back in early 2016 when the primaries were just getting going I asked some US colleagues "are you really going to elect Trump" to which the unanimous answer was "Hell no!" when I said so it will be Hillary then the reply was "We don't even speak that name" The problem this time again seems to be can the Dems put up someone who is not worse than Trump? I have not been following it all that closely, but from what I can see all are badly tainted one way or another. Can a nation of 330 million people really not find just 2 people who are fit to hold the highest office in the land? Seriously though I see it as being more important than ever for all of us that the US does manage to elect somebody decent this time. Sorry for being off topic, but I feel having shares in a low OPEX gold producer is so comforting at this time we really don't need to spend much time discussing it when there are so many other things far less comforting in the world. | sweet karolina2
27/3/2020 09:44 | Must be a bind for for Americans having a choice between Trump and whoever the next loser Democrat leader will be to go up against him. At least we had Boris and Corbyn to chose from................ | soulsauce
27/3/2020 07:22 | joe, Yes there are a number of existing drugs which may be beneficial in alleviating symptoms, but none are a cure as such. By "my president" I assume you mean Trump. I have some non holiday rental properties in Florida and I asked my agent what if any support was being given to tenants and how they all were, he was clearly not happy with the information coming from government. In UK we are expecting the peak to be around Easter. From now until after the NHS has had a chance to recover post peak is not the time for anyone who may be more vulnerable, and therefore more likely to need treatment of any form, to catch the disease. Nobody knows for sure but my feeling is the UK government has played things in UK about right from the point of implementing the right control measures backed up by support measures. My feeling is Trump has been and continues to be reckless, it is also not clear whether the money he is pumping in will find its way to the ordinary people who really need it or it will be like post 2008 and just make the rich richer. | sweet karolina2
27/3/2020 01:37 | I'll go with that, sk2, but I don't buy my President's call for everything to be open and running again by Easter. The other possibility you didn't mention was the hope of finding a remedial treatment in the meantime to speed recovery. Stay safe. | desertjoe
26/3/2020 20:31 | Nothing. It was just a UT (108999 @ 2.59p). Doesn't change the bid/ask but as it is a matched trade it is used as the indicative price. | jc2706

26/3/2020 16:41 | Indeed kirbs. Just before xmas I had what the symptoms on the internet termed stomach flu, laid very low with bad trots. Coincidentally it timed very closely with my next door neighbour's partner returning from the far east. Three out of four of the party were bed ridden on return with what they thought was normal flu, may be it was. I thought nothing of my illness until yesterday it was reported that in some people they get gastrointestinal problems. Maybe 2 plus 2 equals 5 but then again. Bring on the testing, I think there may be some surprising results. | soulsauce
26/3/2020 16:37 | Yet again mms forget to close on the mid price of 2.8 instead they close stating trade of 2.59 lazy !!!! | bigglesbingham
26/3/2020 16:16 | I was working in China (Dalian) straight after christmas and landed back in the uk the day the first reports were filtering through. Within a week of being home i was bed ridden for two days, throat hurt to the point i couldnt take tablets, cough, felt like i was going to pass out just walking across the landing... Im fairly confident i had it but just assumed it was the flu as wasnt a big thing then. | kirbs4
26/3/2020 16:06 | Linz22, I have had the sniffles for weeks, plus both me and misses had days of serious tiredness a while back. Perhaps we have had it, I know relatives in York believe they had it in January - loss of smell in some, "worst I have ever felt" in others. But who knows without testing. | thanksamillion
26/3/2020 16:01 | The problem, and only history will show this, is have we used a sledgehammer to break a nut. Unprecedented steps have been taken to keep the death toll down in many countries the figures of which might have turned out to be no worse than a bad flu season and for the most part taking those towards the end of their lives. Already the steps taken are going to have repercussions for many years and the longer these measures are taken the longer and more hurtful those repercussions are going to be for the younger people left with mass unemployment etc. Only history will tell if it was the right thing to do. There is a school of thought that this may have been circulating longer than thought and many of us may already have had it and not known. Bring on the testing. | soulsauce
26/3/2020 16:00 | Yes it was bad as I recall along with several other years in that era, huge excess winter deaths was a fact of life pre 1960, would hate to go back to those days but it looks like CV is taking us there. | thanksamillion |
