Ariana – Surprise!

AIM-listed Ariana Resources (AAU) offered up a big surprise this morning – it is to buy Rockover, the owner of the Gold mine in Zimbabwe that Ariana already had a small hand in already. Generally I don’t like surprises and was somewhat taken aback by the news.

There is enormous potential here, but AAU, as ever have an uncanny ability of not being able to get anything right in shareholders eyes.

So a huge number of share to be issued to complete the deal, so the share price drops in anticipation, keeping the current mcap consistent. Therefore not being seen as adding value. Too big a chunk to chew for the company as it stands perhaps?

The Ozaltin deal destroyed value and this seems even worse.
I can't see shareholders voting for this.
In fact I could see them asking for Board changes.
The strategy is not being discussed or agreed with shareholders and they must be naive to think we will continue to support such poorly constructed deals which are clearly not in Ariana's shareholder's favour. This seems a bit of a crunch point. A realisation that enough is enough.

i thought the model was earning in into the portfolio investments. but i was wrong as i always am. why not just simply buy it all. asgard companies can be bought too.etc

Sound post there kaos3, it clearly shows how the current non-director shareholders will be marginalised into insignificance.

Biggles and Renniks will no longer have to worry about declarations etc etc etc. and MDV wont have to count hands again.

HaHa, Back to the good old days, what!

PS. I'm not necessarily against further options but would have preferred they were more open about such things.

at 2.4p vol traded increased.... so that looks like bottom today... to me ... so i bought a few. me being a patsy. bought from the boys who knew and were driving the price last few weeks. time to off load to jesters like myself.
