22/2/2021 13:29 | Thanksamillion that is my understanding. I am not sure why paul thinks the drill bit has been turning in Cyprus. | ![]() soulsauce
22/2/2021 13:28 | Just hunting back though previous RNSs, am I correct in thinking KS has now exercised 18m of 19m options that were available to him? Other Directors still have 25m between them, unless I have missed any of them exercising? | ![]() zedder
22/2/2021 13:19 | soulsauce Q2 was mention recently for start of diamond drilling. My experience of Cyprus when there in Feb/March a few years back is that lower Troodos, where the mine is situated, has very pleasant weather at this time of year, and is generally snow free, very different from the areas further up the mountain where 6ft snow drifts are the norm. | ![]() thanksamillion
22/2/2021 12:26 | Just because KS has done nothing wrong legally, ethically or morally, that doesn't make it the right thing to do nor does it show any thought for shareholders. I don't expect him to be a saint but I didn't think he'd repeat his actions of last November. | ![]() jaf1948
22/2/2021 12:23 | "Are you sure he took money out? If I am correct he will have to pay tax on the full 6m exercised. That would normally be a hefty charge and most execs unless indepently wealthy sell enough shares to pay the tax and also to buy some of the options (at effectively zero cost)..." Good point about the tax actually. Might have been much better to have exercised & sell a lower number and let the rest lapse to achieve the same result, ie +1m net. Just a random thought ... | pedr01
22/2/2021 12:21 | Not sure where you have got that from paul? I don't thing the spring drill campaign has begun yet and I doubt the weather has been good enough in the Troodos given parts of Greece and Turkey have had lots of snow. | ![]() soulsauce
22/2/2021 11:54 | Lottsa Try this one, gives price This one shows warehouse stocks If the images are too large ommit the "-large" for smaller image. | ![]() thanksamillion
22/2/2021 11:36 | I thought the drills had been turning in Cyprus for some time now, just awaiting results. | ![]() paul280i
22/2/2021 11:34 | sad to see the overall tone of comments here. if holders are so 'down' about the situation then what hope of attracting new blood. anyway if ks was 'the seller' and there are no others then i guess we return to more normal trading influences, so any pick up in interest should see share price react more fully than of late. fwiw, ks has built this from nothing, takes a modest income and being an insider has limited windows for sharedealings. he has more than earned whatever rewards he can extract from aau. meantime, i note the header of this thread states 'lots of cash'...and that is exactly what aau has, another ks/mdv masterstroke by means of jv. perhaps even more clever is reducing the ownership to under 25% with a turkish partner holding the majority at a time when new permitting in abundance will be required (tavsan/salinbas). i have made no profit from my investment here and am sitting in the red (yes, like everyone i look enviously at other opportunites that are shooting up but this was my pick so no one else to blame) but somehow my conviction in aau has grown stronger than when i started buying last year. at some point aau will lose its discount and the nonsensical valuation will correct and may even overshoot. meanwhile i'm looking forward to the big divi. | ![]() konil
22/2/2021 11:16 | I'm not sure how to get a live one in there, I'll have a play when I get a chance pal, certainly need to show off the copper here now should be starting the drills in Cyprus soonish. | ![]() lottsgold
22/2/2021 11:00 | You and I are on a very similar wavelength! I haven't sold out completely but hold around 30% of what I once did, with everything else having been invested elsewhere. Momentum is absolutely key, and you'll see my previous posts on this subject in particular. It will return one day I'm sure but it's been killed at the moment. | kirbs4
22/2/2021 10:58 | Lottsagold The copper chart is much appreciated but seems to be behind the times, and chance of a more uptodate version. - Minor niggle. | ![]() thanksamillion
22/2/2021 10:58 | Are you sure he took money out? If I am correct he will have to pay tax on the full 6m exercised. That would normally be a hefty charge and most execs unless indepently wealthy sell enough shares to pay the tax and also to buy some of the options (at effectively zero cost). So he picked up 1m extra shares to attract the divi. Sounds positive to me. His salary is paltry - I earned more in a mediocre year in an IT firm - 10 years ago. Timing is not always easy to manage either at CEO level. Each to their own, but don't believe he has done anything wrong here whatsoever. Well done KS. | ![]() ironstorm
22/2/2021 10:57 | Kirbs4, Momentum needs to return to the SP, we had it before in the heady days of +6p but for one reason or another it has died away, personally I think KS's various share dealings and the protracted completion of the JV have had the biggest negative effect on the share price I don't blame the man and he is surely entitled to act as he did but 'momentum' is a fragile thing and it has been destroyed here of late. It can come back but not quite yet I feel. In the meantime I have invested in other companies that are enjoying strong momentum and giving me some capital growth, it's a relief! If those gains hold then in due course a proportion will return here. | 1candc
22/2/2021 10:54 | No comment from Biggles yet. | ![]() jaf1948
22/2/2021 10:48 | Good post 1candc... My own personal circumstances mean I need to sell some shares in the next month or so too (having a few months off work and my shares are just my hobby money), I'm still undecided which to sell but right now feel AAU is the slowest burner in my portfolio and therefore less chance of missing a boat by offloading some more of these and retaining the rest of my holdings. | kirbs4
22/2/2021 10:43 | I believe AAU is a good long term investment but the share price has been in the doldrums, slowly dwindling in value for some time and I sense that it will be becalmed until such time as the special divi date is announced. In the meantime I have slowly sold down my modest holding to zero (I am not the big seller, anything but!) and invested elsewhere to protect and happily grow my capital with the intention of buying back into AAU to take advantage of the divi and to dedicate funds to the long term growth of the company. I have learnt not to fall too much in love with a share to the exclusion of investing elsewhere but when I return to AAU it will be for a far lower proportion of available funds than in the past. | 1candc
22/2/2021 10:26 | call me stupid - because I am - for thinking - I want cash and lots of it. now. I am nervous who cares about tomorrows share price well hmm - should I dump it in a week or so or should I let share price to recover to its "suppose" value pushed up by value enthusiasts, get a nice divi and squeeze the lemon as much as possible? you are right - I did sell. you call ME stupid for doing so, not HIM heh heh no double standards there | ![]() kaos3
22/2/2021 10:15 | Pharmout, some of us hold a lot less than we used to already, are no longer exposed to huge risk, and therefore don't need to sell. Amazes me how many investors think everyone should just think like them and justify mismanaged moments/messages/ima | kirbs4
22/2/2021 10:12 | Too right. If your investment strategies are right the numbers will take care of themselves. The investment game is all about timing. And, right now, it's time to be buying AAU, not selling..! | ![]() linz22
22/2/2021 10:08 | Exactly. It is the message, not the numbers. We haven't been good at attracting new shareholders and we can't afford to lose current shareholders. We have already had a post (4058) from an existing member of this board saying they are out because of it. | ![]() xow98
22/2/2021 10:07 | "He should pay himself more, that's all..." I do agree that his salary does seem very modest. | pedr01
22/2/2021 10:02 | He had a load of options. Now he's got rid of them. Finished. He should pay himself more, that's all... | ![]() linz22
22/2/2021 10:01 | KS, if he has the time, must be reading some comments on this board from so called long term supporters of AAU and tear his hair out. Engage brain some of you before typing diarrhoea. He has the same right as you to do what he likes with his personal investments/income. You’ll pontificate and have your little moan-I hope it makes you feel better. Can’t see any big signs of you selling though? Of course not, because when you sit back, calm down and look back at the overall fundamentals and see the company is on the cusp of a bold, exciting and financially rewarding future for yourself, you come to your senses, grow a pair and stay for the ride of your life. | pharmoutcomeszzz |
