23/1/2004 15:36 | Been trying to ring to find out what's going on. No joy as yet. Both resolutions were passed. We need more details ARC? If there was something negative going on it would have been reflected in the current price me thinks. Nothing to worry about for the time being. | saddam bin laden
23/1/2004 15:32 | So much for a positive,or even reassuring, statement to accompany the EGM! Either this company needs a good PR consultant or there is nothing positive to say. | pfrank
20/1/2004 12:32 | BEIJING (AFX-ASIA) - China's economy is showing no signs of overheating in 2004 although the growth in bank loans and steel consumption had been "too fast", Li Deshui, head of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), said. Li said there has also been duplication seen in the construction sector, one of the areas which most analysts said was overheating last year. He also said there are "structural problems and bottlenecks" in the economy, which the country needs to address. In 2003, China saw a shortage of supply in many areas, suggesting overheating in some sectors, he said. China consumed 260 mln tons of raw steel last year, accounting for 36 pct of the total global consumption of 720 mln tons, he said. elliot.wilson@afxasi | ![]() maywillow

17/1/2004 09:28 | It would appear that negotiations are still ongoing with another worldwide insurance company to take on Red24. Whether these will be completed by February I cannot say. | ![]() prinnytoo
16/1/2004 19:21 | SBL, did you manage to get into WSS, they've started to pop this afternoon, apparently been tipped today at 1.00pm, with a short term target of 20p+. Results out mid Feb. Still Watching this one. | still waiting

16/1/2004 13:48 | Dell - Rob Whiting the Chief Executive was kind enough to phone me today. Your question regarding sale of 6 million shares by the chairman was a transfer to another family member. The drop in the price yesterday is in reaction to the MM of possible issue of new shares. More will be revealed in next weeks EGM that should be followed by an RNS. I have mentioned this BB with Mr Whiting and he has agreed to monitor the board and he may possibly add his own comments, which will be most welcomed. He obviously cannot reveal what new contracts they are pursuing but the companies targets are to double the contracts for this year. The HSBC contracts are already bearing fruit and would have helped the company’s revenues for last year. I certainly will be keeping a close eye on this company as we both agree Security is becoming more of an important issue in the world and they are well placed to take advantage of a growing global market. They also have other revenue global services, which involves training people on security. The most interesting comment he made is they hope to have institutions on board, which should hope to raise the profile of the company. Hope the above helps. I would like to thank Mr Whiting for his time and look forward to any correspondence you may wish to add to this thread. Regards SBL | saddam bin laden
16/1/2004 11:26 | Oh those MM's are at it again...delayed trades at midprice.Must be buys methinks-they're bidding for stock up to 500k,but offering much smaller indications.Maybe the recent markdown was a bit excessive.DYOR. | ![]() addict

15/1/2004 10:15 | SBL - the fall is undoubtedly due to the potential issue of a significant amount of new shares. They appear to be surviving on the brink, with regular issues of new stock. They may have to issue at a significant discount, if they are to place with institutions, as they were recently forced to issue shares to directors and staff to raise a measly £30k which suggests that they didn't have many other options. If you are contacting ARC, you could ask them why the chairman's holding company sold 6mln shares recently. Rgds dell | dell314

15/1/2004 10:02 | Dell - got the information from M O N E Y A M. Understand you could well be right - I am awaiting a call from the company as I have a couple of questions to ask. The sudden drop today you will find there are no trades showing. Could be a great opportunity to top up but more questions need to be asked first. Could it be caused by issue of new shares. I don't think so as there has been no RNS. Will come back later. Regards SBL | saddam bin laden
15/1/2004 09:25 | SBL - could you share your research on ARC's management with us. I'd be interested to know what you found to make you claim that "the directors are dynamic who will strive for further contracts". As for research, you don't even have the correct figure for the number of shares in issue, in your header!! Shares in issue are 90 million with a market capital of 1.28 million. According to the RNS of 3rd dec 2003, there are over 169mln shares in issue. Rgds dell | dell314
