Who knows with Arcontech! They don't release any news between half yearly reports. A very low key company that likes to keep under the radar. The last report 6 months ago was fairly ok'ish- nearly getting there. This will be their most important, showing if they made a clear profit or not.If they do, I will add to my 1% position. If not, it will be bottom drawer stuff.

There's a link on their website, if you'd like to contact them. I have, regarding their extremely poor PR"Hi Sarah, As an investor with over 16 million shares in this company (about 1% of the company), I must say that I'm quite disappointed with the PR of the company. Virtually nothing is released news wise, hence resulting in little or no interest in the share price, making it a very illiquid stock. This I also believe is the main reason for the gradual drop in share price.Would it be possible that investors were informed more regularly on developments- if any, rather then the twice a year Interim & Final results."With thanks .............. .........

Thanks cbootle for taking the time to reply and your input. The recurrent revenues cover 98% of operating costs and therefore there is plenty of scope for any further sales to go straight to the bottom line.

I believe their software licensing model is 3 years at a time with automatic renewals unless the customer opts out - and I got the impression that they have very high customer retention and that the sales cycles were long so it will take time for new sales to be reflected in results.

IMHO grossly undervalued and with high levels of director holdings and also Liontrust - they clearly see value where the average investor does not.

Good luck all :)

Sorry, I can't be of much help there. I left Arc about five years ago. Maybe someone could ask Arc re 1 & 3?

Any thoughts on market share? I suspect it's a big unknown, both in terms of the amount sold by the companies and the size of the market. The potential is huge, IMO, but may need excellent sales people and word-of-mouth to get the message across. Banks and financial institutions do a lengthy process before accepting software in, and once in, are reluctant to change unless with good reason (as the due diligence itself is expensive). That's good for Arc, as can rely on past glories (annual recurring licence fees). They need to get new customers and upsell/expand into existing customers.

Hi Cbootle !

Wonder if you shed some light on...

1.How does our ARC products compare with the likes of Tick42 and MDXtech in terms of technical and pricing offer ?

2.What are the market shares of these companies ?

3.Impact of the recent financial scandals on the attractiveness of ARC products to financial instis and banks etc

TIA :)

Found the info on the competitor - it was Gissing. Link and info here: www.finextra.com/news/fullstory.aspx?newsitemid=17892

"Gissing is a provider of real-time, vendor neutral contributions software. The company's underlying expertise is in the development of specialist 'adaptors' that enable organisations to contribute data to multiple destinations from multiple sources."

That's the core product of Arcontech (known as cityvision, see www.arcontech.com), plus real-time databases (cityvision mvcs) and displays (Excelerator etc).

Some of Gissing's core team left after the take over and can be found here: www.mdxtechnology.com/about (a private company) - again, a similar range of products. Another competitor in this space is Tick42 (www.tick42.com).

Token director buy today, but more importantly, someone bought a massive 5.87 million shares this morning at the full ask!Could it have been a certain Anthony Cross who has already hoovered up 13% of Arcontech Group.

Market makers not declaring some trades at the moment- cheeky crooks!Shares picked up from the poor punter yesterday, being sold at a massive premium. He must have been desperate for the money. At least there wasn't any company specific bad news.Roll on February & let's see a new contract or two announced in the interim results.
