For all the talk of supply constraints the pop is stuck nearer its one year low.
Still think that this may be a play at the end of the summer, at that point we will know how much capacity players like Lonmin are going to actually take off line and the wage negotiations will be over.

Well, the S.African diamond miners are asking for a 15% pay rise and have been offered 6% so a bit of a gap to bridge! they have gone to arbitration but I can't imagine that it will end well.
Only the lowest cost producers will still be in business in 12 months time.

with the aqp's next 1/4 report out in a just 3 weeks or so here is a chart showing the platinum price in rand terms .....it must bode well for the company

buys overwhelm the sells 3 to 1 and we still can't rise a penny ......incredible

again lonmin quick to respond to the rising metal .......lonmin often leads the way where as aqp often follows the day after, so maybe aqp will have its day tomorrow ......the ozzies will see the light and mark the prices up overnight imo

well things improved a little in the afternoon but still a poor day for the mining sector

now we have a spike in platinum, its now $70 an oz more than this time last week / or a 3 month high ......good for aqp

the rand is weak v dollar ......good for aqp

the dollar index is going lower every day .....good for commodities.

nice rise in platinum overnight

u.s dollar index falls away lifting commod's

ozzies lift aqp 6% at the close

aqp +7% in s/a


we should be about 45 all things being equal ......
