The price is down due to the new issue of shares. The diluted price is (40.25 +14 +14 ) / 3 = 22.75p.

The fear with a rights is that it will not be fully subscribed, the underwriters are left with a load of shares they don't want and offload them into the market. Similarly those who subscribe may well be reluctant, because they don't want to see their pre rights holding diluted. They are likely to be weak holders.

On the plus side, immediate cash concerns should be allayed.

Overall the outcome for the share price may depend on what they are able to do with the cash. Apart from the plan to pay off the bondholders, looks to me as though it may well be spent funding a pay rise that the industry can ill afford. However if the fund raising is seen as successful, it is likely to positive for the share price in the short term, subject to the trading update on the 29th Apr.

Looks like you have to express your intentions by 8 May. Dealings in the fully paid rights begin on 15 May. The success of the rights won't be fully known until then

Strikes look set to continue and weather patterns mean staple food prices look set to soar so more strikes and higher wage claims to go on

I got an email from customer services at Natwest, we have plenty of time to take up the rights so no need to panic!
