I hope they had no offers to be honest, unless they are at a very good price.

Results are in a month's time and that should reveal how cheap these are imo, especially with that large contract that starts in H2. That's part of the reason they delayed even looking for buyers imo.

Remember the only reason these are up for sale is because API doesn't fit the strategy of the two largest shareholders and they want out at a realistic value. I'm sure the board don't want to sell up the way they are performing, imo.

Got to be an offer over £1 a share to feel we've had at least something like fair value imo.

seems I didn't miss much last week then...

speed - I'd agree, although I might have hoped for some indication of what they did receive in terms of number of offers and to say they are analysing them and will update when appropriate

Still no announcement. I take that to be encouraging. I assume they must have received offers of some kind + they are analysing them to see which, if any of them, are worth pursuing. I presume they will also be liaising closely with the strategic investors that have called for the company to be sold in order to agree with them what is worth pursuing.

They're under no obligation to RNS the current situation, as it's merely part way through the bids/discussion process already announced. They already said what would happen after bids were in:

"..will then be invited to submit indicative proposals to the Company through Altium by no later than 31(st) October 2012.
The Board will consider indicative proposals and may consult with the Company's major shareholders before determining whether to continue or terminate the sale process. If appropriate, selected participants will then be given access to more detailed due diligence information through an online data room and management presentations, following which revised proposals shall be requested.
As a final stage, the Board would expect to engage with one or more participants with a view to agreeing an offer, which it is able to recommend for acceptance by shareholders.
The Board reserves the right to alter any aspect of the formal sale process as outlined above or to terminate it at any time and in such cases will make an announcement as appropriate. The Board also reserves the right to reject any approach or terminate discussions with any interested party or participant at any time. There can be no certainty that any offer will be made for the Company, or even proposed, or as to the level of any proposal or offer that may be made..."

Nowhere in that does it say "we will inform the market" at any particular stage prior to the very end of it all.

there should be an rns either way - they simply should not stay quiet on this.

It has to be, I think they would've said yesterday that the period had closed and the company had received no interest. I'm a little surprised they haven't said that they have had interest though if only to prevent a leak.

BBD, My thoughts also, as you say if no offers or interest have been expressed, I'm sure we would have seen an announcement by now.

I'm seeing this as no news is good news.
Pretty sure they would have announced by now if no buyer had been found.
Anyone agree?

As suspected it was Crystal Amber buying yesterday, 195k @ 72.42p and 85k @ 70p, now at 8.84%.

edwardt, good idea, please post an update on what you find out :o)

I presume the October 31st deadline is something that some potential bidders will have intentionally ignored - saving their powder till the result of that first initiative is declared.

Some might start off low which could very well lead to counter offers as you say Greenie.

85p will be annoying as it is low, but I'll enjoy moaning about a quick profit. You have to question whether 85p might lead to a counter bid though. Major holders hold the aces here not management.

88k @73p still buyers out there.

my guess is a low ball offer of 85p - still a profit.

ic2 - Assuming they get any offers! Just cos they put themselves up for sale doesn`t mean there`s a boat load of buyers around. (Hope there is though) :)

No news is good news imo.

Even though I think 100p is a fair price, I feel that offers are likely to be lower due to the reasons given by M T Glass. Between 80p to 90p?

At the moment, it doesn't look like the marketmakers have got wind of any news about whatever bids did or didn't arrive by last night's deadline..

bbdave - I agree there's a significant difference. Bidders don't have to offer a hefty 'persuasion' premium if key investors have already indicated they are in a mood to sell.
