Cyberbub, I forgot to mention the one area that could be huge for AOR if they can strike the right deals and finance arrangements and that concerns their polymer heart valve technology. That's been discussed in this thread and there was some useful background in one of the recent final results RNS's.Ultimately I would recommend a few hours reading the RNS's from the last few years and take it from there. Lots of detail to be had.As for IP, that depends on all the different uses they put their polymers to. They have industrial know-how and such like in the same way Coca-Cola has its recipes.AOR are vigorous in pursuit of those threatening their IP and very existence (again see RNS history). All the best in your decision making. I am a high risk taker so this floats my boat having weighed up my research. It's not for everyone!

I don't really have time to look through the last 6 years or RNSes, but I have been looking at a few, and through the bulletin board also, there seem to be some knowledgeable posters and a better quality of discussion than a lot of others.

I see that in the last full year's results, there is a statement: "With several million implants and seven years of successful clinical use, AorTech polymers are being developed and used in cardiology and urological applications, including pacing leads, cardiac cannulae, stents and neuro stimulation devices."

If, even on their current poorly-rolled-out business, they are seemingly on average having their polymer installed in a million products per year, how are they only making $600k p.a. revenue? In these health-critical applications is the advantage their polymer offers only worth 60 cents ($0.60) per product to AOR? Or if we assume a 10% royalty, then it is only worth say $6 to the product manufacturer? That doesn't sound like particularly valuable technology to me - unless AOR have basically been getting shafted for years....?

Thanks Bones.

Do you have any info about how long the IP has to run?

Hi Cyberbub,Glad you could look us up here! As you rightly say, you should come in with eyes wide open.I found I needed to read every RNS of the last six years to get a picture of the company's travails as well as progress. I think they have been well managed in the sense that a lot lesser types might have buckled under the bad luck events they have faced, not least the long battle with the ex-CEO.For me, the attractions are:- legal baggage cleared away with a satisfied board on the outcome;- new strategy and new ways of monetising the IP to be revealed;- ongoing partnership with Biomerics to manufacture and promote AOR's polymer and IP;- very low M Cap to compensate for the type of risk you highlight;- previous CEO ( not the one they sued!) increased his own holding above 10% after stepping down!- upside is high on any progressive agreements done from here on.- very low number of shares in issue. 55k shares gets you 1% of the co.High risk, high reward is the game here and it's illiquid. As I say, eyes wide open. DYOR in detail. You say low turnover but it's still more than N4P! I have plenty of those also.

I'm just looking in here after a tip from Bones.

Even after 4-bagging in the last 6 months, the market cap is a very very small £2.5M, and the market must be huge in comparison.

What troubles me is why after so many years with their IP in place, have they completely failed to take better advantage of it? I know they've been 'fighting fires' to a certain extent, but surely making $600k p.a. revenues worldwide from technology which is claimed to be amazing, doesn't reflect very well on the management?

In their last H1 results RNS they said "The value added to licensees is not only greater than licence fees payable, but the value of the licence fees to our customers is significantly more than the market capitalisation of AorTech." So why the hell aren't they squeezing multiples of $600k p.a. out of their IP?

I also don't know how much longer their IP lasts? It seems to have been in place for quite a few years. Is there a concern that they only have a few years left to run on the IP? Have they been able to extend it?

Thanks for any views/info.

PS kudos to those with the balls to buy back at 10-12p a few months ago, that was truly 'option money'...
