@jbravo. Gregpeck is a serial ramper, and very rude with it. He seems to have a beef with mad foetus - probably because he was right.

I've also found mf to be courteous and reasonable, also knowledgeable, across multiple boards. Anyway, enough of that. Where will this push take us to?

Sorry about Greg, he is annoyed because I sold something he owns at a profit and it subsequently went downI cannot believe the MMs gave us that opportunity. I got more at 55.75 and really, I should call them traders as I have enough long term holdings. But with a likely yield of 4.5p a year, it is tempting to hold for quite some time.

Thanks catsick. I guess that implies they hope to get almost all of the remaining 30pct from the tailings? Great bonus for us all

Oh dear "gregpeck".
I've found mf to be a courteous and reasonable poster since he's been here, and it's been quite a few months.
You on the other hand arrive and offer what?
We are quite happy looking after ourselves and I suspect that's your chance used up before you're outta here.
Thanks for thinking of us though... that was your motivation wasn't it?

As far as the tailings value question goes, I took it that was the net value, ie after cost of processing, in the early days of the mine they were only getting 70pct of the gold out of the ore, as the plant was improved the results got better but a load of gold has been dumped in the tailings, its fairly common to have operations based on tailings reprocessing and aaz will have known when they just had a heap leach running that at some point the tailings would be worth reprocessing, I guess when they are using the very high grade ores from under gedabek they will dilute with tailings ...

Who could possibly ask for more? The directors here just keep on delivering over and above expectations. An excellent report delivered with clarity, and a clear statement of dividend policy, this must now be the best value in terms of income and growth in the whole mining sector.

Still a mystery to me as to why any holder would be selling these below 100p. I look forward to the divi, and many more to come, better by a country mile than money in my Bank.

I notice they have a small write up on the front page of The Telegraph business section. So perhaps a few more eyes that were previously unaware of this bargain might take a look.

I tend to read and learn rather than post on this thread as there are so many on here with so much knowledge.
Thank you for all your insights.

One quick question regarding the 30 million worth of tailings though - what would be the cost of processing the tailings so
I can figure out what profit that amounts to?

Thanks to Mattjos for running this discussion board - my daily read!

Fair enough. Of course there are a myriad of reasons for people's decisions. I'm aware I was talking in generality and hyperbole but frankly this share deserves it.
When you've been banging the drum as long as I have you become baffled by people's lack of perception especially when things are presented plainly to them, or admittedly occasionally through hints.

As for your portfolio, well done it's a brave stance. Many people would be horrified and caution against it. However if one is confident in the company and it's staff/owners how different is it from owning your own company where you might have a far higher percentage tied up in one company. Ah yes but you're not in control is the answer, to which I counter what if I think the owner of this company runs it better than I could run one?
I have a far higher percentage of my portfolio here but am aware of the risk that presents and am prepared for the fallout.
I can think of worse men to tie my fortune to than Reza.

I have nowhere near the holding, or entry price of many of you. This makes up about 13% of my portfolio, and was accumulated in the 40's. That makes it my 2nd largest holding, and reflects the confidence I have in the company.

I'm indebted to you all for the excellent discussion on this board. I haven't had the time to do much independent research, and this board has been invaluable to help my understanding of the business.

Congratulations to those who will make life-changing profits here.

I bought in now because they are almost debt free and over delivering:-))

Could be a nice ride

Ps i am still in Sopheon

jbravo2 I'm not sure it's quite as simple as that. Sure some people will have traded this for a 'small' gain but people sell for all sorts of reasons.

I moved large parts of my portfolio into AAZ when it was in the low 40s last week seeing that there was a great opportunity hiding in plain sight.
I've sold a few of those today but AAZ still currently occupies about 50% of my portfolio.

Well I guess its only the uninformed and deliberately obtuse who are selling now. The last three days have answered every doubt anyone can have.
The following months and years will just prove it, time after time.

Some people still won't believe. Think it's too good to be true.
resourceful selling 1m shares at 7p telling us we were all fools of course.

He'd be doing "ok" if he'd held, as it is I had some of them and now I'm doing "ok"

excellent results as expected, but a pleasant surprise on the divi - couldn’t really ask for more. Looks like 60 is the new 50, for now :)

Wonder how much these improvements have contributed to lowering the already low AISC?
As they will do so on ongoing basis, they are particularly beneficial:

" Various other initiatives have been undertaken during 2018 to improve the operational efficiency at site:

-- The Company has started to reconfigure its ROM stockpile pads. This will enable more efficient (and therefore lower cost) handling of plant feed and this work is expected to be completed by the end of 2018.

-- Transportation logistics are being improved with a new spur road link between the main open pit mine and processing plant now under construction. This new road will reduce haulage distances between the mine and the processing plant.

-- An expansion of the on-site maintenance facilities and workshop is now being planned.

-- Several specialist managers have been recruited to improve working practices. These are in the areas of mining, drill and blast, equipment operation and maintenance.

-- A diesel filtration system has been installed to improve the quality of fuel used which will improve the efficient operation of equipment.

-- A new solution sprinkling system has been installed to better distribute cyanide on heaps which are being leached. "

Wow, stunning set of results and far exceeded my conservative $5.5m PBT guestimate.

Congrats to Henwii (post 15434) for an almost spot on prediction(!).

I'm particularly pleased to see the reduction in AISC. If you compare these interims to 2016 (where production and revenues were very similar) the cost of sales is down c$2.5m, which really demonstrates the effect of the capex on improved plant efficiencies.

I think even with the slightly lower gold/copper prices we should be looking at $20m+ PBT for the full year. Excited for the Q3 production update :)

This has £100m+ market cap as a minimum written all over it. GL all.

SPA need to dust off that abacus now and provide figures for revenue, net profit, eps and dividend as crazycoops highlighted so that II's tools to screen companies will flag up this opportunity

Value here is clearly above SPAs target of 84p

I'm tempted to sell some as it has risen so quickly and is now half of my SIPP but know I will regret it if I do

Think I will go to the golf course, remember the reasons I invested so heavily here and leave my mobile at home

I liken worrying about gaps in the chart to my 8 year old avoiding standing on the lines on the pavement... (-: I think with yesterday's update underlining the fact we have 1m oz in the pit alone and lots of goodies underground too, we can see that gedabek will be running at the current rate for at least 10 years, probably 20 The generation of cash at 50m usd a year less capex is going to easily fund our fat dividend and also should fund a small heap leach at ordubad, remember thats how gedabek was started for 20m usd so that is easily fundable from cashflow depending on what they find ...

Agreed Brasso.

Obvious point.. but the explo. news + interims are already fully 11 weeks behind the game now.

I just wonder what the net cash and cashflow is right now + the further resource revealed.

Not long until Gadir JORC and Q3 production are out.
The confidence eminating from AAZ, now embodied in 25% free cashflow div. strongly suggest to me that AAZ team know fine full well this newsflow will re-inforce the already very +ve outlook.

I mean you don't bang out 25% fcf div. chancing it that you will need to rein right in in 6 months or next year.
That would lose credibility/confidence/trust.....takes years to build can be lost in no time at all.
