The market rarely gets excited about ASY but that pessimism expressed following the previous weather effected results are now looking a distant blip. Very strong yield here for a very steady business. Sits well in a balnced portfolio I think.

Looks respectable to me. Took a few early on. Had to actually phone a human being to place the order, the first time in quite a while, as online size was pitiful.

Nice dividend of 11.9p with reiteration of dividend policy.


And what everyone wants to see - an Outlook statement containing the magic words

"cautiously optimistic".


A good first half with noteworthy activity in Benelux and the Middle East.

FWIW AIM rule 18 says half-year figures must be published 'without delay' and 'in any event not later than 3 months after the end of the relevant period'. So Sept 30th at the latest.

I noticed LSC interims were out earlier in the month so thought perhaps ASY may also be earlier this year.

The last 3 years its been 26th Sept, (Wed in 2012, Thur in 2013, Fri in 2014) so no real day of week pattern. Anyway we'll see them shortly no doubt.

However, London Security interims were 11th and they are quite often the day before ASY, so I give up. They were 26th last year so maybe it's the last Wednesday in Sept which would make it next Wednesday, but who knows?

If they are similar to previous years, they should be out either tomorrow or Thursday. The results will be better than last years interims, mainly because last year was so bad. The summer was not good so I presume the bit about current trading won't be marvellous, but as long as it's in the 'satisfactory' bracket that should be OK. We'll find out if they made anything out of moving HQ. In view of their cash pile we would hope for another £5m pay-out.

Look at this animation of the Jet Stream forecast. It's fascinating.

As you know , The Jet Stream is normally a nicely curved ribbon shape. It is now looping all over the place in a crazy fashion. Typical of El Nino events.

With such massive distortions and rapid changes to the Jet Stream, there is every chance that the wet weather could rapidly change to scorching and back again.

You hopes for hot weathermay well still come to fruition.

El Nino continues to wreak havoc with weather patterns this year.

The affects of El Nino - the strongest for several decades- make the most severe impact towards the end of a year as the Pacific unleashes its pent-up heat and significantly alters global air currents and patterns.

One can perhaps expect the normally steady Jet Stream to deviate greatly from regular seasonal patterns this year which will bring extreme weather conditions over the UK and Europe over the next few months.

Looks like we have already been experiencing a conveyor-belt of heavy rain and storms brought in rapidly from the Atlantic this August compared to a normal year.

I think there is a lot more to come.

Yes ignoble quite a bit of business outside the UK now so nice reading stories
