Its been pretty mild over Europe but getting colder now. The first half this year has got to be better than last years but the end of last year didn't help them much at all. Still, this cold spell is going to be significant, they'll get loads out next week and some of it stays out even if the weather gets a bit milder.

OK, hang on to your hats. Slightly less cold for a time on Friday, otherwise a week of cold weather. Snow in the news by tomorrow. Low temperatures in the news next week, possible -15C in places further north. Whatever, it's got to help asy.

Coldest spell of the winter due to start Wednesday. Not sure how long but probably into the following week at least. Serious disruption in the north.

The second half of last year will include the hot spell in July which should help things and there's been plenty of rain, so pumps should be OK. If we do get a decent cold spell that will help the trading statement. The coldest winter in the last 100 yrs (1947) started 17/18th January, so who knows?

In view of the weather we have had, i can't see the next statement as being anything other than disappointing.

I know Keith.
It's been very mild hasn't it.

From a building point of view. I would guess that heaters would be needed if the threat of frost was reasonable. I mean that if a room has been plastered for example and there is a reasonable chance of frost one would assume that heaters would be rented and positioned, at least over night. And we have had a few times where it would make sense to have heaters (just in case etc.) although we haven't had a really cold spell.

My point being. I don't think we need a really deep frost to motivate renting of some heaters however a deep and lost frost would of course be preferable to get the whole fleet out.

Hope that makes sense.

At long last it looks like a proper countrywide cold spell for next week. The pumps should be OK at the moment and they would have done a fair bit of heating oner the north in the last few weeks but next week should see some good business on the heating side.....first time since early 2013.

However, there will be some cold interludes during the rest of December which is better than we've had for 2 years.

December won't. Nobody knows about January and February. Yes, bit of a chill in the air today but the maximum temperature around the country today is around the average it used to be in the 50's and 60's. We are getting soft.

Actually, don't want to put a dampener (!) on things but as we saw by their results, even though pumps (and driers?) did well last winter, the lack of cold weather hit them hard. A dryish and cold winter would be much better for us asy holders than a mild and wet one. No sign of any cold weather for the next few weeks I'm afraid, but plenty of time for things to change.

Indeed, significant returns on the yield over the years.

Meanwhile our weather is the SW has been dire. Some of those rivers looking significant flood risk from what I could see and I don't expect improvement any time soon. Augers badly for the winter season...unless of course you have ASY stock.(Every cloud and all that)
