01/9/2008 15:22 | Look......... the LRU's DETECT and SELECT diamonds (proven) and then COLLECT them before the thieving laboerers get their hands on them. Furthermore they do so cheaply and more importantly tey detect diamonds among the tons of 'dirt' that other methods are not able to. OK, the elastic band on the conveyor belt keeps snapping ( the up-front plant)but it is not the all important technology that is screwing up. They have many options open to them. In markets like these any sniff of a setback is punished and understandably so. But they have just been granted an option on a neighbouring mine, and surely the owners of that mine would not be engaging DTEC if they did not expect to collect from it ( would they want DTEC marching around their mine installing equipment etc if they were not convinced of the merits ? ). And DTEc get a share in those profits too. So they can license the tech .................... But the LRU's DO WORK. I've bought more, but accept there is a risk but with a mkt cap of just £2mill i like the risk. | waldof
01/9/2008 14:47 | I am holding, averaged at about 2.75, will not break the bank if it goes to the wall. I still think it has potential, what would happen to share holders if they sold the technology off? | deal seeker
01/9/2008 13:52 | Well...current mkt cap £2mill. The 'technology' works, this is no 'clinical trials failure'. They have recovered diamonds. They do not need a fortune. Whilst there is a funding caveat, as there would have to be in mkts like these, alongside the remark are some quite bullish comments which would not be there if it is not what management thought. I could certainly think of a more depressing scenario for this co. | waldof
01/9/2008 13:40 | Always encouraging to encounter a credible optimist after a setback ! :o) | masurenguy
01/9/2008 13:36 | I'm a little more sanguine than your goodself Mas'. | waldof
01/9/2008 13:24 | What a bummer ! Unfortunately this kind of set back is not untypical of a new technology small cap. As is often the case various setbacks mean that they run out of cash and either raise funds at a significant further discount to the share price or they go to the wall. The former can always be justified as being the only alternative to the latter ! What do shareholders do now - sell out and take a big hit or grit their teeth and hope for the best going forward. I feel sorry for those who bought in at much higher price. I bought in fairly recently at an average of 2.3p and this is also my smallest holding (less than 1%) so I'll put these on the back burner and see what happens - either they will get through this, raise some more capital and see the share price recover or they'll go down in which case they will be a small tax loss. Can't really say that I'm particularly optimistic in terms of the former but C'est la vie. Bon chance mes amis ! | masurenguy
01/9/2008 12:19 | Looks like the LRU,s work but the plant does,nt,Dependant now on refinancing or going to the wall. | kenatbabken
01/9/2008 11:18 | Hi Deal Seeker, I am a relative newbie like you, about 1-2 years. Normally i go for the high yield, low P/E shares, however i took a small position in DTEC becuase like yourself i like the engineering concepts and possible potential, also that the 'units' LRU's are fairly self contained and seem transportable, hence opening up the possibility of joint ventures on smaller patches of potential diamond recovery 'gravel'. However I do think this next set of news is the 'crunch' news, in the sense that we will really find out how effective these LRU's are, in practice. | timanglin
01/9/2008 09:21 | Masurenguy - Thanks for the advice, it is indeed a very steep learning curve that demands a high degree of self control. I haven't lost a fortune yet and managed to earn a few pounds along the way. I do like the look of this technology, I have an engineering background so can see the benefits. If it is successful and the business is handled correctly it should be a winner. | deal seeker
01/9/2008 08:11 | The Mms have narrowed the spread again to 12.5% in response to a couple of small Buys at 2p. Last week it was 33%, then 25% and now 12.5% so it just illustrates the games that they are playing here with the spread changing on either zero or miniscule volume. Lets hope we do finally get some news this week ! NB: Good luck Deal Seeker - if you've only been trading for a few months then you'll also gradually come to realise that psychology, as well as fundamentals or even TA on much more liquid stocks, is also a very crucial element in your personal mindset especially where small caps are concerned ! | masurenguy
30/8/2008 10:23 | Point taken, hope we get some next week, I have only been trading since june so please bear with me. | deal seeker
30/8/2008 10:01 | This is really too much of an embryonic, illiquid, small cap stock for any TA to be really meaningful in terms of direction or momentum in relation to the share price. This will be newsflow driven, whenever we actually get some, on the fundamentals ! | masurenguy
30/8/2008 09:51 | Not intending to promote previous link but just thought it was another tool to use, you do not have to subscribe to use that page. | deal seeker
29/8/2008 13:12 | I,ve just heard that there was supposed to be an update this week and its now to be next week whether its good or bad I don,t know but it is from the horses mouth as it were. With over a million of these I obviously want it to be good. | kenatbabken
29/8/2008 12:53 | I agree that no news does not necessarily mean that bad news is on the way. However markets (and investors) hate uncertainty and, in my view, that is what is being reflected in the share price at the moment | masurenguy
29/8/2008 12:44 | Mas and apologies from me just goes to prove the old saying "Don't trust any word from the Street"although mine was from a good sourse. Can't get him to answer me at present!!Still think it might turn out alright | fitehills
29/8/2008 12:02 | Just had small top up | dnuts
29/8/2008 11:56 | No need or reason to apologise - it seems as though people are being fed speculation rather than information at the moment ! | masurenguy
29/8/2008 11:54 | Go along with you Mas'...............a | waldof
29/8/2008 11:50 | You would think so but it is obvious that nobody knows when this might be ! .................... waldof - 26 Aug'08 - 359: Update due this week. Masurenguy - 26 Aug'08 - 360: How do you know this ? waldof - 26 Aug'08 - 361: Because i was told by what is best described as an 'impeccable source'. The Drewster - 26 Aug'08 - 362: I have a few "impeccable sources" here too, though I am struggling to get anything by way of confirmation. fitehills - 26 Aug'08 - 363: I also hear that an update is coming this week | masurenguy
29/8/2008 11:19 | Surely we must be due some news by now. | dnuts |
