Tanzania and the World Bank to cooperate in energy projects

Speaking today June 4, 2024 in his office in Dodoma, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Hon. Dr. Doto Biteko thanked the World Bank for the compliments and said that the Bank is a major development stakeholder in the country and that they have an agenda to collaborate in energy projects.

"We are happy to hear that our country has made progress and we have planned to develop other energy projects to ensure that there is sufficient energy in the country", said Dr. Biteko.

He added "We will continue to cooperate with the World Bank and Hon. President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan has been stressing that every money we get must be of value to the people. The Ministry together with our electricity agency TANESCO has been commended for handling the energy issue in the country well, however, we must look further and not just be satisfied with where we arrived."

And, the Resident Director of the World Bank in the country, Mr. Nathan Belete has said that the Bank recognizes the good work done by the Government of Tanzania led by the Honorable President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan to have a good system to supply energy to Tanzanians.

"Here in Africa, Tanzania is a good example in the distribution of Electricity to the people. We have planned to have more conversations and see the best way to help in matters of clean energy for cooking by financing and involving the private sector by looking at the opportunities available", said Belete.

In addition, Mr. Belete has said that the Bank is also financing a project to build a 400 kilowatt power transmission line from Iringa to Sumbawanga and connect the countries of Tanzania and Zambia.

He continued by saying that the World Bank will continue to cooperate with the Government of Tanzania in developing the clean energy agenda for cooking which the Hon. President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan is a leader in the use of clean energy for cooking.

Aminex don't produce gas, and have no plans to. PoI doesn't impact agreed domestic gas prices.

I agree the investormeet platform is excellent and since there is so much to hear and talk about it would really help raise the profile.

With the AGM coming up at the end of the month, I've suggested to them in the past to use so all shareholders can participate in Q&A.

I have asked again, but as I say, the more that ask the more chance we can take part in the Q&A and listen to what is said during the presentation.

I've been on loads of Investor Meet Company calls, they are always well received by shareholders, and they can't cost a lot, as many of the companies using the platform are tiny small caps and are not loaded with cash.
.
As I said to them, this is probably the most important AGM in the history of the company, so all shareholders should be given the opportunity to be part of it, even if that is only via Investor Meet Company.
