The Tegata escrow scam returns to compound the Tanesco shambles.

It should be noted that the escrow money was handed over to PAP with the collusion of Tanesco and that while some CCM politicos and senior civil servants were sacked/resigned and a few minor players arrested, no one has ever appeared in court. The country is rotten to its core.

Predictably, not a word of this has appeared so far in the Daily News, the CCM's Pravda.

(How much money is laundered per year?)

"By its very nature, money laundering is an illegal activity carried out by criminals which occurs outside of the normal range of economic and financial statistics. Along with some other aspects of underground economic activity, rough estimates have been put forward to give some sense of the scale of the problem."

"The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) conducted a study to determine the magnitude of illicit funds generated by drug trafficking and organised crimes and to investigate to what extent these funds are laundered. The report estimates that in 2009, criminal proceeds amounted to 3.6% of global GDP, with 2.7% (or USD 1.6 trillion) being laundered".

"This falls within the widely quoted estimate by the International Monetary Fund, who stated in 1998 that the aggregate size of money laundering in the world could be somewhere between two and five percent of the world’s gross domestic product. Using 1998 statistics, these percentages would indicate that money laundering ranged between USD 590 billion and USD 1.5 trillion. At the time, the lower figure was roughly equivalent to the value of the total output of an economy the size of Spain".

Sorry, but London is NOT the global money-laundering centre for the drug trade.

its all corrupt warbaby, capitalist commonest religionist. where ever humans seek to dominate, corruption of one form or another seems to seep out.

(London is now the global money-laundering centre for the drug trade, says crime expert)

The Jubilee Debt Campaign is largely a bunch of anti capitalist Corbynistas and the lesson that can be drawn from Tanzania and its power sector is that nowhere does corruption flourish more freely and vigorously than in one party, socialist states.

This from the 2015 Orca Results:

"TANESCO payments for 2015 continued to be
irregular. During Q4 2015 TANESCO payments
decreased with only US$4.5 million being received
against sales of US$11.7 million. As at 31 December
2015 Management has reviewed the current
position with TANESCO and feels that the policy
implemented in 2014 is still appropriate and as a
result, has reclassified a further US$9.8 million, the
arrears in excess of 60 days, as long-term debt and
has placed a full provision against this. As at the date
of this report the total receivable is US$75.4 million."

Does seem like Orca are between a rock and a bad place. Not been paid and now looks like they are going to loose supply when KN-1 comes on stream.

I guess they deserve it to some extent for stopping AEX accessing the old pipeline for which AEX stated they had rights of access and even bought the steel for the pipeline that since rotted and was written off in the accounts!

An unwellhead Bun? The customers are queuing up to steal it and the TPDC are trying to get underwritten credit to pay. Demand is in the air.
I could be wrong but the vibe is that.

If the volumes were bigger I might be concerned but the price movement that we have seen is not justified on the recent volumes....

I think the point is bunbooster that there is nothing going on behind the scenes....

What is there to keep shortermers interest in the share? We should get notification that the second invoice has been paid very soon and that might cause a tick or two up but it should already be largely in the price. There might be news of spudding in the next 3- 4 weeks but again nothing that isn't expected. And then finally there will be news of the NT2 drill outcome sometime at the end of December.

We could also get news of the final COD and flow rates (which would be very good news) but I personally am not holding my breath for that.

So the net result not a lot of any significance happening for thre months at least... Time for the shorttermers and traders to sit on their hands.

The real interest and price rise will only start after the end of December and on a positive drill outcome.... Until then a steady drift with the occassional tick up on news. That is likely to change some weeks in advance of the drill completion as a load of rainbow chasers climb on board for the results. It is here that you will need to watch the share price - a pronounced fall before results will be a strong indication to abandon ship; right now nothing in it at all methinks. The volumes are pitifull.

Power sector
"Power sector sales volumes decreased by 17% to 2,521 MMcf (27.7 MMcfd) in Q2 2016, compared to 3,041 MMcf (33.4 MMcfd) in Q2 2015 and decreased by 12% to 5,762 MMcf (31.7 MMcfd) in H1 2016 from 6,536 MMcf (36.1 MMcfd) in H1 2015. The decrease in volumes is primarily a result of reduced nominations of natural gas volumes by TANESCO arising from cessation of power generation contract with an independent power producer who was using the Company’s Additional Gas; (incremental natural gas supply to TANESCO from other gas suppliers;) and suspension of power generation by Songas in the early part of Q1 2016 due to issues of non-payment with TANESCO. Songas resumed power generation to TANESCO later during the quarter."

plus they carry this statement under their business risk

page 10

"risk that additional gas volumes available to the NNGIP from third parties will replace all or a portion of the volumes currently nominated by TANESCO under the Portfolio Gas Sales Agreement (“PGSA”) until additional gas-fired power generation is brought on-stream to consume all of the Company’s available gas production;"
