08/6/2015 15:12 | Student Investor Well I will agree that TipTop is a dangerous geek. Did you know he's Stuard Detmer's nephew? He's also a Bishop, or at least was before he was de-frocked for his cross-dressing and wandering around Billericay Park late at night. He now sleeps on a park bench as his wife left him as she couldn't stand his nonsense witterings any longer. Gerry pleased LDLV is there, not here | skinwalker
08/6/2015 15:06 | Tanzania Says Gas Reserves Rise 18% to Reach 55 Trillion Cubic Feet Statoil Asa (NYSE:STO) Intraday Stock Chart Today : Monday 8 June 2015 Click Here for more Statoil Asa Charts. By Nicholas Bariyo Tanzania's known natural gas reserves have increased by up to 18% in the last 12 months following a number of discoveries in offshore blocks, the energy and minerals ministry said Monday. In a statement, the ministry said that the country's natural gas reserves now stand at 55.08 trillion cubic feet, up from 46.5 Tcf last June following finds in blocks off the country's southeastern coast. The larger reserves are a major boost for Tanzania's fledging natural gas sector as the East African nation continues with plans to build a gas export plant targeting energy-hungry Asian markets. With more than 100 Tcf of natural gas already discovered in neighboring Mozambique, the region is poised to become the next natural gas hub on the continent, analysts say. The energy and minerals ministry said the 532-kilometer gas pipeline, connecting the offshore oilfields to the port city of Dar Es Salaam is complete and will be commissioned in September. The pipeline is expected to increase gas supplies to several gas-fired plants as Tanzania seeks to wean its electricity sector away from aging and unreliable hydro-power plants. A spokeswoman for the ministry said that fresh gas supplies will save the country around $1 billion a year in oil imports for electricity generation. Companies including Norway's Statoil ASA (STO), Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) of the U.S., Italy's Eni SpA (E) and the U.K.'s BG Group PLC (BG.LN) have made a series of finds off the coast of Tanzania and Mozambique in recent years, making the region a hotspot for energy investors. The U.S. Geological Survey estimates that East Africa's coastal region has potential reserves of up to 441 Tcf of natural gas. Write to Nicholas Bariyo at nicholas.bariyo@wsj. 08/6/2015 12:57 | Talking of absent posters and positions on boards, LDLV is recruiting on the Afren thread... " shareholders therefore need to: 1) Submit a motion using a 5% shareholding group to remove key individuals from the board and replace the investor relations and to appoint a NED with two functions a) Oversee future investor reporting b) Oversee the appointment of an independent legal team to establish the facts behind the multitude of allegations that have occurred within Afren these past 24 months..." Good luck with that... | gerryjames
08/6/2015 12:45 | Things start moving in tanz, energy minister holding meeting on Friday about this project.Hopefully gsa process will speed up I guess mid August | tmmalik
08/6/2015 12:39 | Well, it's certain possible Studentinvestor. I guess we'll see. My prediction goes like. GSA signed in July. Soon after SOLO take up the additional stake in KN-1 bringing in a few million. In 2015 Gemini agree to provide the cash for a multi-well drilling campaign in Ruvuma. 10 million a year net starts flowing in from Kiliwani. In 2016, after more drilling, Ntorya comes online bringing in an extra 15 million a year. Despite the good news I relapse into depression and suddenly disappear from the board. Nobody knows where I have gone, few ask but the absence is felt even if misunderstood. Years later I wake up dizzy and confused. I start posting again as if no absence has occurred. By this point Aminex is a 200 million pound company and I am offered a non executive director position on the board in recognition of my excellent online analysis. I turn this down to focus on my charity activities. | bunbooster2

08/6/2015 11:53 | Incredible amount of delusion on the AEX lse thread with head honcho Tiptop a danger to all who read his nonsense. I am predicting the following things happening. GSA signed in November 2015 but placing before then of $5m to keep the lights on at 1.4p/1.5p. GSA achieved and share price rallies to 2.5p and falls back again. $15m high interest loan signed up maximum and used to drill Ntorya-2. Ntorya-2 turns out to be a dud. Not enough money to repay the high interest loan. Company collapses towards all time low. Debt cripples company as Tanz Govt take their % in Kiliwani reducing income even more. Management sacked/walk away with high salaries already couped in back pocket. Rescue fundraise insufficient to repay loan so some debt:equity swap sending shareholders to the abyss. Prediction only but not unreasonable based on past performance. | studentinvestor13
08/6/2015 09:03 | "Simbachawene said a pipeline connecting offshore natural gas fields to Tanzania's commercial capital Dar es Salaam would be commissioned in September, ahead of the energy ministry's previous estimates of November." As I recall even when November was the operative date for completion of commissioning, AEX were still expecting gas to start flowing from Kiliwani in July conditional on the GSA. This mention of September presumably firms up July as being the start of production and the commissioning process. Meanwhile: | warbaby43
07/6/2015 16:12 | This may be so SW, but gas is expensive to move from one country to another. Locally produced gas will always be cheaper and more competitive. | joestalin
07/6/2015 13:17 | Hi Gerry not exactly research! Lifted straight out of the sunday paper! Yes, good news for consumers, and with Iranian gas soon on tap, presumably the price will remain low for eons | skinwalker

05/6/2015 16:36 | Re GJ's post @ 52827: "We promise you, all these manipulation, get rich quick schemes will not go unpunished, we will dig out all, prosecute, sentence and confiscate all ill gotten wealth massed by you all!" While there's no doubt that there are many Tanzanians who are plenty mad at the CCM crooks (and at donors like the UK for funding them) their problem is that the CCM "own" the police, the judiciary, the army and most of the local authorities who will do the vote counting. They are also careful to keep onside their core rural constituency using donor money to keep the peasant (their word not mine) farmers happy. That said, Tanzania will very possibly be in the news come October as political violence there is likely to reach a new pitch. There was quite widespread violence in last December's local elections when the CCM vote dropped from 97% to 75% PS - And today's Crook of the Day, according to the comments, and one who claims the credit for Mtwara gas hxxp://www.thecitize | warbaby43
