18/2/2015 07:15 | not long to wait now then. 16/2/2015 09:49 | Kuwait: oil prices have improved faster than expected Oil minister hails faster than expected oil price rally, predicts better prices in second half of 2015. Crude has been on a rollercoaster for the past two weeks KUWAIT CITY - Kuwaiti Oil Minister Ali al-Omair said Monday that world crude prices have recovered "faster" than expected and that recent gains will likely hold. "Oil prices have improved faster than expected," Omair told reporters. "I think it will last... It started holding gains now and hopefully, in the second part of 2015, we will see better prices," the minister said. Crude has been on a rollercoaster for the past two weeks after prices fell by around 60 percent between June and January. After plumbing lows of close to $40 a barrel, international benchmark Brent North Sea crude for April delivery rallied to $61.19 last week. Market sentiment has been bolstered by cuts in output by North American shale producers that have raised expectations of a reduction in the current supply glut. Omair said that reports from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries suggested that excess supply was being reduced more quickly than expected. Surplus production "is definitely lower," than the 1.8 million barrels per day that OPEC and other agencies had estimated during the past few months, he said | dfgo
13/2/2015 15:30 | that is what I thought.....but you dismissed it completely.... : ) such a valuable asset......in a country so well know for producing oil.....even the CIA don't have any figures for production.... : ) | thecynical1
13/2/2015 15:09 | On the other hand, nothing like a bit of optimism: "Tanzania’s LNG is projected to take off after 2016 and start working in 2022" But: | warbaby43
13/2/2015 15:03 | "Aminex works closely with the Tanzanian authorities, particularly the TPDC with whom it enjoys an excellent and cooperative relationship." Demonstrably, though, an insufficiently "excellent and cooperative relationship" to get TPDC to actually cough up a critically important GSA for AEX despite their being prepared to issue a parallel one to M&P 5 months ago (15/09/14.) Not just their already shredded credibility which has been further shattered by the eighteen month+ GSA farrago, the damage is now operational as well as financial Also worth noting that since November it's been all change at the top of TPDC and the Dept of Energy & Mining. | warbaby43
13/2/2015 13:22 | Never mind the USA or Russia | ngms27

13/2/2015 12:16 | Aminex has invested over 100 million so far (5 wells?) and is 100% focus Tanzania, showing that we are committed and can be relied on must count for something surly? 18 November 2014 IMS "Aminex's primary efforts remain centred on its Tanzanian assets where additional gas supplies to drive the country's economic growth are of national importance. Aminex works closely with the Tanzanian authorities, particularly the TPDC with whom it enjoys an excellent and cooperative relationship." "The Company's first priority is to bring gas from the Kiliwani North Field to market early next year as the construction of the major regional pipeline progresses according to plan. The Company's second priority is to appraise the Ntorya-1 discovery within the Ntorya appraisal licence and better understand it and its neighbouring leads and prospects in the two exploration licences, which the Company holds under the Ruvuma PSA." "A developed gas field in the Ruvuma PSA would find a ready market in Dar es Salaam via TPDC's new regional pipeline and the fast-tracking of such a development would certainly be encouraged and assisted by the Tanzanian authorities." | blackgold00
13/2/2015 11:43 | Yes ,blackgold, assuming they want Aminex to be licence compliant. A supplicant Aminex is a very vulnerable one to having to surrender chunks of Kiliawani or Ruvuma to TPDC - unlikely I would like to hope. | warbaby43
13/2/2015 11:41 | When a small cash strapped company embarks on brinkmanship with a country/state who normally comes out in the ascendancy? | lfdkmp
13/2/2015 11:34 | warbaby43, "The continuing absence of the GSA has so many potential consequences." yep and TPDC/Tanzanian authorities must know that and they must know how beneficial it could be for Aminex to secure funds for appraisal drilling. | blackgold00
13/2/2015 11:10 | yeah, like five years ago, when they were drilling Likonde, 17p | blackgold00
13/2/2015 10:55 | Yeah. I wish I was out of this over the weekend too... | skinwalker |
