Very true. As they say talk is cheap. We are all aware here that Amerisur has great Assets but has under achieved for many years

Feb2017 in the Evening Standard - re Giles Clark
"His hope is that takeover-hungry majors will set their sights on Amerisur. “Small or medium-sized oil companies tend to end up in large oil companies,” he muses. Amerisur, which has built a pipeline into Ecuador, has been going quietly about its bid to produce 20,000 barrels a day."
Well if they had acheived the 20k then the sale price would have been more interesting!

MMs don’t seem to want it to go much north of 19p...

Is it possible that the difficult operating environment in southern Colombia helped the board build up their position there?

Lucy, I agree with you re operational matters. They have never delivered what they said they would, over promised and under delivered every year. CPO-5 hasn't been their fault to be fair. What they have done an amazing job on is the corporate deals, we are only here now with a valuable business to sell because of the deals we've done over the past 5 years. You do wonder if this was the strategy all along.

It was quite interesting to see a sudden spike towards Friday's close and then a sudden drop. Hopefully 20p will be broken early part of this week.

Stupidly? One might argue this was the strategy all along.

Looking forward to the week ahead and finally finding out the offer price & getting pleasantly surprised. I believe most of us are expecting to see 25 - 35p but GC is No fool so expect more !!!

There's nothing to suggest that Amer did instigate a sale. They may have stupidly left themselves open to a bid by failing to manage ops, deadlines, newsflow and ignoring shareholders for too long Q

Why move share options offshore is a better indicator

They must be confident of a decent price, else why instigate a sale?

Not quite true. Should there be no acceptable offer and lets say they turn down 25p there is no guarantee share price will hold at 25p. Drilling always comes with risk of dusters. Hopefully we will receive an acceptable offer.

Thought for today: even if no bids are high enough and AMER is not sold. Highest bids will form a floor under share price, so no downside from here?
