Suspect quite a few PIs have done the numbers but don't want to ramp. 100mmbo gross, 30% net to AMER works out 10-15p per share. Question is IF they find it? I'm pencilling news about 11th Mar.

Tyler - you are hurting peoples feelings ;)

they do not want to comprehend that OBA and PUT is not about the past - it is about now and the future. and it is still very material.

same with the Co communication

One of the bullet points on OXY's rationale for Putomayo farm-in is

"Contiguous to existing infrastructure"

that would be the OBA

the video shows pipeline underground. Have limited internet access at present. Can't find out whether 3.9km referred to the under river portion or whether the rest of the 20km of pipeline is surface or fully underground.

Any new interconnector on Colombian side should be far less of a problem than a cross border pipeline.

The OBA is not underground in its entirety. 3.9Km is underground (its in the Amerisur video with video suggesting 20km total pipeline).

Personally comments on Plat are academic. Things are what they are, but criticism on communication is in my opinion justified, and cannot really see why you or any other holder think it's not. Previously Amerisur suggested Plat would produce 8,500bbls a day.
Tyler is wrong if he/she thinks the OBA will be useless, as it provides and was from Inception designed to link 'cluster assets' and Amerisur made is known. If it takes a 10km interconnected that's not much as the 20km total pipeline installed for the OBA, although I thought it was less than that. Plat is a tiny tiny taster compared with the other assets.

Main assets dwarf Platanillo even if Platanillo ever delivered the projected 8500bbls a day.

The OBA is underground and under the river and then into Ecuador: hardly an easy target for the ELN.

ELN (always smaller than FARC and not included in the peace process)is much diminished, said to be numbering less than 1400 (out of a population of over 40 million). It is difficult to see how ELN can continue to survive in a Colombia where sympathy for disruption has withered: it should have emulated FARC and struck a deal on the back of the more powerful group.

On the point of pipelines, they are regularly bombed in Colombia, has OBA been in the firing line yet?

Colombian state-run oil company Ecopetrol SA said a bomb attack on the Trasandino pipeline late Monday near a populated area caused a fire but no injuries. This was reported 5th February so just kicking the tyres here after reading from gold mines of Sardinia to Chaco Resources?

The bombing hit the pipeline near the town of El Pailon in Narino Province, close to the border with Ecuador, the company said Tuesday, adding that the fire has been contained.

The pipeline was not operating at the time of the attack, the third this year. There were 16 attacks on the pipeline in 2018.

Ecopetrol did not say who was responsible but security sources attributed it to the National Liberation Army (ELN) rebel group, which frequently attacks oil and energy infrastructure in the area.

The company said it is waiting for security forces to secure the area so it can assess the damage.

The 306-km (190-mile) Trasandino pipeline has capacity to transport about 85,000 barrels of crude daily from fields in Putumayo Province to the Pacific Ocean port of Tumaco, where it is exported.

Chaps i've been doing some research today. I didn't know where to start so I began with the OBA. one thing that struck me was that when the oba was built - transport costs dropped from $14.05 to $3.09 per barrel. Opex correspondingly dropped from $26 to $15.
Amer in a RNS say that to transport oil from the end of the oba to lago Agrio costs $1.09 per barrel. However lago agrio is very close to the columbian border meaning oil has to travel the sote pippeline to esmereldas (right across ecuador) This raises many questions that I hope you guys might be able to help with.
1) Any one know how much its costs amer to transport from lago agrio to esmereldes.
2) If we are going to export oil from third party sellers, what companies with oil fields would want to use it?
3) what tarrif per barrel would be applicable. The OBA has a technical capacity of 50000 bopd. so for example 40k bopd charged at a similar rate amer are being charged would be approximately $16 million a year. Its seems owning pipelines is a good business in itself.

any thoughts

Tyler Durden/F/A

I don't NEED to "make it up".

What DON'T you understand about the "OBA CLUSTER" used as the heading for Put 8, Put9 and Put 12? It is used because the oil from those blocks will utilize the OBA and that is the reason why they have been prioritized.

What investors have to remember is that over the last period, storage and pipeline connections have already been built inter pad on Plat. and the company will simply extend and hook into that system from the adjacent blocks. Some of the prospects on the eastern side of Put 8 are very close to Plat pads. Specifically, in the last general update, mention was made of extending the Plat. road into the first Put 9/12 prospect and they will truck or run a pipe alongside that road, as they have done between pads.

"Environmental studies have been completed for the construction of a 10.2km road from the Platanillo field to the Coendu prospect in the PUT-9/12 blocks".

A second full blown inter-connector is planned for Teracay and Tacacho and that was why the acquisition of Put 14 was so convenient (and, of course, OXY are no strangers to pipe line building).

"The block has further strategic importance in that it extends south towards the Putumayo river and Ecuadorian border. This brings benefits in terms of accessibility for operations and eventual evacuation of produced crude by providing a pathway to access the pipeline systems of Ecuador, in a similar way to the existing OBA system in our Platanillo field."

I'm with Tyler on this, sin of ommision has worked for JW because of the indico result but it's a poor show not being upfront and updating us on what is happening on all fronts and giving a hard cash figure number. I've invested with caution and would like to invest a lot more but it'll be as a momentum investor rather than an all in an leave it specifically because JW seems unable to be 100% transparent and honest with his updating.

..and who said the N sand was ever guaranteed

25 Sept 2018
Amerisur, which described the results as ‘unexpected217; said it is now analysing the logs and samples obtained before making any further drilling decisions on the other two wells it had planned at the N sands.

Speaking to ValueTheMarkets, Harrison said that while the results are no doubt ‘disappointing’, the N sands only made up a small part of the resources it is targeting in Colombia over the next year. Indeed, the business is currently at the beginning of a fully funded work programme targeting total resources of 131.53MMbo, as can be seen below. Of this figure, it was targeting just 11.44MMbo at the N sands. As he put it to us:

‘The reality is that exploration does come with risks. Yes, it is disappointing, and we were anticipating a better result, but it is just a case of moving on with drilling across our leases. If we look at what we are targeting over the next 12 months, the N sands form less than 10pc of what could be on offer. We have these other blocks that we are going to be drilling over the next 12 months, and those are all exciting prospects that open up exciting horizons for us.’

He added that the business should be able to move on swiftly from today’s news, with up to five wells planned before the end of 2018. The first of these, Indico-1, is due to be spudded in the latter half of October at the firm’s 30pc-owned CPO-5 leases, where it is targeting a net resource of 5.1MMbo. In today’s update, the firm said a rig mobilisation to the Indico-1 drill site is going to plan.

+ + + +

Indico has already more than made up for the initial N sands disappointment. Whilst N sands may yet be re-mapped and re-targeted, with CPO5 delivering why would they - we're not comparing apples and apples now are we? Kudos where kudos is due, at Indico-1 AMER and ONGC smashed it out of the park. End of.

Charlie.

Don’t make it up. Show me one RNS or comment from JW that says it’s from PUT?

The pipeline was for Platanillo and all the RNS info posted in my post refers to plat?

Put would require a new interconnector pipeline if they find oil in order to utilise benefits of OBA.

I’m not short I have my shares and reckon PUT will be what makes the company go stratospheric. CPO-5 is great, occ deal great too but you can’t make up stories to explain platanillo when even in header of this bb it goes on about platanillo concerns?

Its not good enough. You can bet your last dollar others knew about plat problems yonks ago.

Timeline of poster who alleged problems seems to go back just before RH disposals.

All these other excuses about Pope, social unrest, low oil price taking wells offline, planned maintenance don’t do company any favours nor most shareholders except no doubt others in the know can do nicely out of it.

How do you come up with excuse about lack of news on Pintadillo?
JW referring to PUT I suppose?

"The Company is currently reviewing options to utilise that capacity through the purchase of local crude oil as an interim measure UNTIL COMPANY PRODUCTION INCREASES."

JW is referring to PUT 8,9 and 12 (and possibly Mecaya)some or all of which may constitute COMPANY PRODUCTION INCREASES

TD: not the brightest cookie in the pack or a disingenuous/agenda driven poster trying to spin the decline of a mature oilfield (which has done its job well and hoisted the company onto its current spring board)as a negative.

Why does anyone think that it is smart for a company to trash itself: only a fool would suggest that JW was wrong to maintain optimism in the face of adversity. I suggest some research on "Gerald Ratner" for those who disagree.

Thankfully, now, as I am sure we can all agree, there are solid grounds for JW's optimism and upbeat presentations and plenty of reasons to enjoy the feelgood factor building in AMER: roll on Calao in less than a fortnight to terminal depth.

TDI - your comments on past news management are well made. Going ahead it's a question of priorities, capital efficiency, and high grading opportunities. Happily the company has a multi-asset portfolio with optionality. We need to put our bucks where they make the loudest bang. For the short/medium term that means CPO-5, so I'm happy Platanillo investment dollars are being re-allocated to CPO-5. Hopefully CPO-5 will start throwing off meaningful cash in say a couple of years time, and this cash will then be re-cycled into the OXY blocks creating a virtuous circle. (i'm assuming OXY know what they are doing, hence their farm in!)
