Hi kaos3, plat production costs are around $17 per barrel with OBA, and were 30 without - so I find 10-15 difficult to believe as a cost per barrel in CPO-5. Is that what you meant, and do you have a source for it?

fadilz - in an indian interview from yesterday I think the costs are stated in between 10 and 15 USD (I am not native speaker - I hope I got it right). there is small change reserve for x factor in your model ;)

Hi Paradores, yes 6 more wells, and it may be they can produce at a higher rate than Mariposa (which has been running at 0.8k net to AMER), but this remains to be seen. Another factor is 8k/30m gives 10 years in production. They may choose not to produce at higher rate unless greater reserves are proved up.

xxjnr, also puts a brake on the weak peso against the dollar. I would guess that is why the President will be only too keen to put out tweets. I cannot see him being that bothered whether or not a company has issued a RNS. If he can talk up the economy and assets then it will give them more buying power outside of the country.

"This is the second discovery in the same block. On July 17, 2017, the company presented a discovery warning for light crude in the Mariposa-1 well, and currently reports an average production of 3,200 barrels per day of oil, for a total that exceeds 7,000 barrels per day. production in the CPO-5 block ", indicated the ANH.

In this regard, the entity said that this new discovery of light crude oil in the Llanos basin, which has been characterized by producing heavy and extra-heavy crude, confirms the potential that still exists in the region, encouraging exploratory investments by operating companies that do presence in the area.

For his part, the president of the ANH, Luis Miguel Morelli, stressed that "the National Hydrocarbons Agency has a participation of 23% of the total production of the block CPO-5, after royalties, in accordance with the contract signed in the frame of the Colombia Round 2008. This percentage makes the recent finding more attractive for the Nation's fiscal interests ".

The entity highlighted that in 2018 the production of crude at the national level exceeded 863,000 barrels a day, where the Meta is considered as the first oil producing department in Colombia, with a participation close to 50% over the national production, surpassing the 420,000 barrels average day.

"The Llanos basin, despite being considered geologically as a mature basin, with this exploratory success also shows that Colombia's hydrocarbon potential is yet to be explored, tested and produced, representing new opportunities for social and economic development", Morelli highlighted.

foetus, was holding off topping my wife's isa yesterday on the hope of further consolidation and a pullback of circa 18 but just couldn't see many investors selling with all the potential and news flow. Post Ind-1 update the enormity of the discovery just seems to get better and better. Just from this 1 pad the valuation of the company is discounted. Not forgetting strengthening oil price, strong dollar, money in the bank, assets...…. :)

fadiz - yup that's fair, but - and it's a BIG 'but' - this 1st well is choked back at 4.5k bopd with 240psi wellhead pressure. Once storage infrastructure at ground level is enhanced, reckon we'll be seeing production increase to 6-7k bopd from this ONE well no problem at all.

Now. We have 6 more drills to complete with ONGC before Interims. I see conservative production net to AMER from CPO5 block alone at 15k bopd by y/e. With potential for more, much more!
