The share price is where it is for one simple reason:

Here is the FT list of funds that hold AMER

Investec 6.40%
Fidelity 6.19%
AXA 5.71%
Hargreave Hale 5.00%
JPMorgan 4.25%
Legal & General 4.15%
River & Mercantile 3.71%
Capital Research 3.56%
Majedie 3.33%
Invesco 2.69%

45%-ish held by the top 10 Funds, the only issue is that the FT is out of date with it's numbers.

Here is Morning Stars version of the same list:

AXA 5.88%
FIL 5.47%
Capital Research 4.28%
River and Mercantile 3.98%
Marlborough International 2.79%
Invesco 3.06%
Legal & General 2.82%
Hargreave Hale 1.84%
J P Morgan 1.77%
Fidelity 1.55%

Up to date to 31/12/16 barring a couple of entries. Only 33.5% of Amer equity make up the top 10 funds.

With the wind up order on Michinoko, Rex reducing and the implied sales above a lot of stock has been dumped on the market. It's not just PI's that have run out of patience.

At least some notification as to what has happened to that 101,353,943 shares owned by a company allegedly struck off in October 2016?

Lots of small buys today. No movement to speak of. How many do we need for a rise in SP? The ft effect?

Small piece in the FT on Sat re Amerisur. Inference is that the operating environment is improving.

Well, taking a quick look at coca production, it does seem as if an internationally supported plan to eradicate it in Colombia has been in place for some years and quite successfully.

Presumably, it would have been more difficult to roll the plan into the remoter areas without FARC support and that might explain why AMER has to be so careful right now as for this area, it is a change that has only come now with the Peace Agreement.

As much experience has been gained from previous operations, the plan should be implemented reasonably smoothly and will be relatively predictable.

Quite clearly, the political change does make AMER far more attractive, both as an investment and as a takeover target.

Very close to support levels, if 24-5p goes we'll have a buying opportunity worth taking! Positive vibes around AMER seriously lacking but one decent RNS could turn it around sharply.

Lucy...a positive comment for you to ease your panic

When things change, I expect share price to react with a very quick and sustained rise, but I still believe its now in shareholders interest to be bought out.

The company was reasonably explicit in the December operational update

"The road and bridge to Pad 2N have been maintained and the drilling location is now complete. However national social disruption, related to the Peace Process and in particular the Government's programme for the replacement of illicit crops, has been particularly prevalent in the Putumayo region and has prevented the drilling of Platanillo 22 from Pad 2N to date. Since the signing of the amended peace agreement on 24 November 2016 the Government has now begun to roll out its programmes and the issues within the area are expected to abate. Amerisur continues to actively invest in its social programme in the area of influence and believes that these disruptions are an inevitable part of the great changes occurring in Colombia. These changes should lead to a significantly improved operating environment"

It is easy to forget that such seismic change has occurred within the last quarter.

So the issue is how can the drugs trade continue without the support of FARC even in remote areas and how quickly will that cash crop be replaced with alternative income? Possibly it will be non agricultural employment, which inevitably means a population shift out of these areas to urban locations. Certainly, the more undesirable elements will drift that way, as there will be slim pickings in remote rural areas.

Given shareholder anger over the OBA delay, I would hope that the recent brief January update on Plat 22 is not just dangling a carrot and that it is based on a realistic assessment of change on the ground. That will be fundamental to rebuilding trust.

Your posts seem to show panic. Its a pity you don't post about Amerisur.

If you would like to disagree with anything then you post it.

If you have facts or views about Amerisur post it, that's what the bb is for.

But you choose to post about a poster, which is pathetic.

The BoD in my opinion have not covered themselves in glory in the past couple of years. Even larger holders expressing dissatisfaction on more than one occasion about remuneration with some voting with their feet.

The pipeline whilst transformational looked like a complete fiasco from start to finish and some of the reporting to investors including timescales has in my opinion helped create poor sentiment.

We then have two directors divesting themselves of assets after the 'imminent' and 'transformational' effect on the company yet to show itself, but where its reasonable to ask why divest any at all if the news was going to be that imminent or that transformational and its now under their disposal price, in the face of all this good news to come imminently.

Then we have Michinoko, which could explain the constant share price balancing act taking place, as the company shows it was inactivated 17 December 2015 and struck off in October 2016 without any comment by the BoD of Amerisur or any announcement on their holding, where any BoD can make enquiries as to who beneficial owners are or what takes place with Amerisur shares within it, and where Michinoko do seem to have a lot of interest in Giles companies.

Emotional responses from posters that avoid the above are dangerous in my opinion. Of course Amerisur should have a higher share price with its assets and potential which is why I hold....but fact share price is so low with such compelling reasons it should be higher is a cause for genuine concern, as shareholders on AIM are often the last to know anything.

John Wardle does do a great job, but even his related party status with Tracarta dis not helpful in my opinion. I may be wrong but didn't we buy Fenix off a connected party?

Seeing the apparent moves from one thing to another in related companies, including lithium, where it is on record as being a suggestion for Amerisur to consider adding to its energy repertoire as a logical addition and future proofing, but instead another company was used.

Amer has operated under these conditions for years " political stability is now improving, production is being increased, 3100bpd through OBA and more to follow. Sp was around 29p until Peel Hunt downgraded AMER to reduce. Because of the lack of information from bod, coupled with negative assumptions, it is this that is affecting the share price
