Got to love Rex. Of course it may not be him, but the new tactic to keep the share price down is a modest sell at 8am just to set the tone, followed by another at 16.29.59 to keep the mood going. It's a marvellous tactic and only costs about 1,500 shares per day, so at this rate it may never stop.

...and write of £40K of what in reality, should have been a very good investment. I've taken hits in the past and have accepted the risk when the risks were evident. In twenty five years of investing, it would be extremely fortunate to have taken a chance and not fallen a few times. I have accepted that with good grace. But when the fundamentals are good and risk 'appears' so much lower, it only points to the fact that no crumbs are likely ever to be coming from the master's table.

Kipper, if you don't need the money why sell out now. Even if you don't see the benefits maybe your heirs will. I am about 10 years behind you and would really like to spend some of mine, but do I have the patience. Been in and out several times since Chaco days but I fear there are better gains to be had when I do sell up next time.

Davwal - Congratulations too, although I am left wondering if there is a masochistic streak in you here. Married 4 times, seems you may not be learning your lessons?? :0)

Thank Kipper - that's fantastic I haven't done so well but feel this is it. It's certainly the last...

Congratulations davwal....they say that 'marriage' is the longest sentence in the world. Mine lasted 52 years until last year, so don't be pessimistic :)

'Past performance should not be taken as a guide to future potential.'

Ah, yes. I got married at the weekend to my partner of 12 years and those very words might have been murmured at some point...

Yes moneylender, as an 8 year holder duped into buying on the dips 19 times (!!!) you can well imagine what my average is now. And it is nowhere near the price that the over-optimistic 'newbies' would be happy with. As the small prints often say, 'Past performance should not be taken as a guide to future potential.' To the 'forward thinkers' who would now have me wait another 5 to 8 years when I shall be 80 to 85 and probably sitting on a cloud, I would say, look at that past performance. Stare at that 5 year chart, and give me some more of that considered financial advice as to whether or not I should pull out now while there is still something left of my long-term investment in what is now becoming more obvious will never deliver PI shareholder value.

It has the assets, it has the base production, it has the partners, it has the infrastructure, it has the cash. PIs have no patience. If it’s a 5-8 year hold from here, so be it.

On balance I would say the news over the past 6 months has been very positive, indico and the Oxy farm out especially. A couple of disappointments, yes, but not huge in the grand scheme of things.Sentiment is currently low, as per usual, but long term the company is still going places.

Underhill and Astor
Who says the City doesn't like the management?

IF that was the situation the fund managers would be selling out in droves and so would all the institutions run by the City.

No Bryet, a few positive comments will accelerate the slide.
The management is toxic, nothing can be done I'm afraid.
dump it is best.

Realistically, why would anybody want to hold shares in this company? Nothing they ever do translates to a shareholder return. The costs relative to income are out of control, despite being told that break even is about $28 per barrel, there is no control over forex dealings or royalty payments, forecast activity is massively optimistic, with crushingly disappointing outcomes. The relentless greed and myopic understanding of how the market views dilution of capital purely to reward a 9 to 5 job, with no exceptional outcomes over many years is catastrophic, and clearly, no outside interest wants to bid for a company, the majority of who's shares are in the control of a tax dodging shell company. The chairman is of such dubious character he's even got his own documentary, and the pressure from institutions to arrest a gravity defying share price collapse is non existent. Added to which, there is a malign feud with a disgruntled corporate raider who has discovered that the best way to depress the share price is to sell insignificant share quantities at the close of each day. Are we all mental?

Remember Amerisurs Management are not liked by the City. £1 takeout would be fantastic but somehow I think that is just a pipe dream figure. In would be more than happy with a 25p takeout

Looks like Occi are snapping up Anadarko.....

Shows oil resources are not what the media suggests.

22% premium offered over Chevron bid

When RH has cleared someone will snap up Amerisur for £1+ mark these words. Giles won't retire he will cash it in via a bid. He even suggested as much.

Even at current production the share price is crazy
