I already have a very large holding - so feeling vindicated but am way over my “sensible̶1; allocation. I like the write ups of the Staude Capital Global Value Fund - they are a couple of months behind in publishing them but they still see value to be unlocked and I find these developments very promising.

Judging by the volume today I seem to be the only one who seems to think these developments substantially derisk AA$.

On the face of it the announcements do seem to derisk AA4 so that income from the A380s should be forthcoming beyond the 3 year lease expiry. Anyway, right or wrong, I've bought another 25k across 3 accounts. At worst this should act as an annuity.

I also found this from the Sheik (who is the CEO above Sir Tim Clarke (President) “The French OEM stopped manufacturing the double-deckers in 2021. Sheikh Ahmed, however, said the airline would continue to expand its fleet with more A380s from lessors for ‘the right price. “The A380 will stay with us until at least 2035. We will continue to buy it for the right price,” he said.”

I wish I had more funds to invest, MRF, but I'm already fully committed and would need to sell elsewhere to buy here. Tempted to do just that, though.

AA4 are looking stupidly undervalued now, aren't they? Who's thinking of increasing their holding before value if outed or someone takes them off the stock market for good?

Great. Now all we need is an announcement from Amedeo telling us how this will affect our planes. They must surely be talking to Emirates about this, so news must be on the way.

Thanks for that excellent bit of research Andyandyoj. Good finds for sharing. Reasonable to speculate, therefore that either Emirates will look to buy our planes at the end of the lease contract or extend the leases. We win either way and the share price should respond. Nice.

Sorry for spamming but quite nice here

“ Pratt & Whitney, an RTX (NYSE:RTX) business, has signed a 10-year agreement with Emirates to maintain and support the airline's 116 PW980 auxiliary power units (APUs) on its Airbus A380 aircraft.” that’s through to 2033!

“While a few of the A380s have been withdrawn from the fleet, Emirates president Tim Clark says he is committed to “keep them going as long as possible”.

“We have to keep a careful eye on [the supply chain], so we’re cannibalising some of the early aircraft and storing the parts,” he said, speaking during the Dubai air show.

“We’ll try to keep 116 going for as long as we can. Back-end of the next decade, it’ll drop to 90.”

116 aircraft wheel sets will be maintained. This seems to me to coincide with their total fleet size (implying all current aircraft will fly). And this is to extend life as long as possible

FROM THE FT today: Demand for the industry's biggest jets is soaring after a prolonged downturn following the coronavirus pandemic, which severely dented long-haul travel. Much of the demand is expected to be driven by Middle Eastern airlines over the next two decades. Boeing is forecasting that wide-body aeroplanes for long-haul travel will make up 45 per cent of deliveries to the region over the next 20 years - the highest regional percentage worldwide - as it expands into an international transit hub.

Emirates have been extending the leases for 777-200s so there is a probability down the line that the 777-300s will be extended as well.

Airlines - despite the economic situation - are now picking up strongly,
however for flyers also fares have got much stronger too.
Lets hope that AA4 shares start to fly.

In German but interesting. Signalling they will be flying the A380 until 2041 at Emirates
