Tim00, I owe you a beer. Took £75k out of here at 1.85 and put it into EQT at 0.5p.

Looking to take my holding back up to 1% of the share capital here shortly.

nicely done space dust .. all my top up money was done in the first wave and then the paper profits vanished like sand in and upturned egg timer.

Hopefully the next wave has substance

Gold moving up nicely, would love to see it break and hold above $1900oz - that will focus attention on the producers.

Linz you talk a lot of sense - yes Bitcoin at present is the fastest horse in the race but this is a trotting race not a sprint so could be pulled out for breaking into a canter? Gold is tried and tested and has value but the FED and JP Morgan are manipulating the market at present and there is far more paper Gold than physical bullion. So for now trhe price is volatile but will eventually head north again when people learn the truth. I have no idea how long it will take. The stock market is crazily overvalued and fiat currencies especially the US$ are not backed by anything other than non repayable humungous debt. So you cannot paper over the cracks forever and something will give.It will not be Gold although it can still be volatile. The inevitable is inevitable. Happy New Year all.We are all aloowed a point of view so lets respect others and follow are OWN hunches.

And, therein lies the problem - as well as answering your own question about governance. The notion of sound governance underwriting and guaranteeing the value of one's wealth and investments (and national currency) is nothing but an illusion.

People are gradually waking up to the reality of endemic corruption throughout our national institutions and hitherto structured society. As a result, investors are slowly but surely losing faith in government, the economy and established financial systems, like alleged regulators, and the mainstream media to tell the truth about its failures. Instead, investors are turning to alternative assets to safeguard their wealth and hedge against the impending doom of the debt-peddling, central bank driven, financial system.

I've always presumed that investors in this stock, and the majority of contributors to this bulletin board, are wisened to that reality and are similarly invested in gold explorers and producers, like Altyn, as such a hedge against our moribund currncies and banking institutions. However, I'm aware that there are still contributors to this board who are concerned that 'the gold price might collapse'.

For such worried individuals, be consoled that the price of precious metals is only going one way from here. In fact, the price of gold never goes down, or up, as it is the ultimate constant (quite literally always worth its own weight in gold). It's price only changes in terms of its exchange value to said fiat currencies and the US Dollar, and associated fiat currencies, is entering its final death spiral.

That's not good, for anyone (apart from the asset-stripping blaggards on their super-yachts) but it's the least we, as small private investors, can do to be aware of this unfortunate reality and prepare accordingly for a financial future much different from what's gone before us. Indeed, perhaps some of us are a bit too long in the tooth to accept the reality of a 'new normal' and still prefer to believe that 'if it's on the BBC then it must be true', but uparalelled change is taking place now; including corruption in finace and politicised prejudice at the highest levels, a cashless society and the so-called 'cancel culture' where indebted people live in fear of losing their livelihoods.

As such, one could not do much better than to divest away from cash, and from established banks, and reinvest in safer havens such as gold, silver, metals miners and crypto currencies, and for now, as it's attracting institutional support, Bitcoin is far and away the fastest horse in the race...

Ultimately, it's up to the individual to decide, and decipher, where is the best place to reinvest one's wealth, as a hedge against the inevitable, and with what investments they feel most comfortable. But, I would humbly advise that the most important thing of all is to simply be aware of the reality, get out of denial that the government or the FCA have got your backs and wise up to what's really going on. Thereafter, the correct investment decisions will surely fall into place, as assuredly as knowing that, logically, Altyn's day will come.

If you have thoughts like that then sell and buy Barclays.

Barclays as you know are totally honest and protected at the highest level, and based in the UK and USA they are in 100% credible democracies where rule of law is always observed and investors are safe.

Lol dream on...

as far as this share (and a few others I hold .. ) are concerned..

The big question is ...

Can the Russians / Kazakhs etc ... 'Self Govern' .. their commercial behavior ..
and .. can they look after investors interests & funds ..

- or will they turn totally pirate.. and try to bag the lot..

Government implies governance and rule of law. Decentralisation implies a lawless unregulated Dodge City.

..........................................

Not if you're 'Self Governing'..

- It has to do with 'Sovereignty'..
(and also Feudalism & Chivalry.. where 'Self Sustainability' & Self responsibility
(leading of course to 'Self Substantiation'.... played fundamental roles within
the concepts. (or 'Belief systems if you will)

- a bit like ... philosophical Brexit really ..

I'm not sure that altyn have ever set annual targets other than future potential estimates of production once a certain amount of development has been done.

In that vain, we have limped along for over a decade with gold at low prices, utilising the open pit and surviving until the conditions were favourable.

Now, 3 or 4 years behind original plan due to not being able to secure required finance on reasonable terms, we are now moving on fast in many areas and levels.

We're doing it the long hard way, but it has meant no dilution of share capital or our 100% ownership of our assets.

Surely the management should be and will be applauded when this plan eventually comes to fruition?

I think ALTN is a different kind of undervaluation compared to most other gold miners I own. The other have good operational performance and the market is just not giving them fair value so I sleep easy with those shares. ALTN is full of potential but has been mired with bad management so I do not feel the same level of confidence but it does add some beta to the portfolio.
