Thanks. The conditions (and likely pay) aspect was a grim reality reminder from a replay of the video. IIRC some limited upgrades were mentioned in an RNS a while ago - as a human, being I hope that some of capex is going to improve their lot..Hopefully a local hostelry looks after their "wine (vodka?), women and song" away from the working week!

Yes, the early afternoon timing of the Bond RNS struck me as strange - a prod from LSE, VSA (no longer on the case?) or HBR?!.Different instruments on different exchanges with different time zones - combined with patchily uncommunicative management. When some news from the company finally flows it had better be good!

Altyn RNS 4/12:

"In line with its effort to fund growth initiatives and diversify its sources of funding, Altyn is raising a 10 million USD bond on the Astana Stock Exchange. It's use will be dedicated to the company's capital expenditures.

The results of the book-building (4-6 December 2019) and bond terms will be announced at completion."

Surely an expansion plan will now be issued to show how they intend to develop the mines in 2020 and beyond. $27m to play with.

TF. Btw how do they get access to the underground mine these days? I assume they have built a decline as I saw somewhere that the distance traveled to get ore from the mine to the mill has been reduced by about half.

TF. Yes, the bit to do with the Seki open pit is no longer relevant. The gold mineralization seems to be almost vertical from other depictions so it is not across some kilometers where you have more angled venting. To get production up to 50k or 100k oz year they will need much more mechanization. They need to be generating decent profits from much higher output, accelerating from the 29k tons of output in July.

I don't think you will find miners smiling and high fiving underground in too many places! The conditions and pay are usually not good and there is an ever present danger. Also the Kazakh temperament can be quite dour as basic survival over many hundreds of years in that climate has moulded them.

Hi Steve,Thanks for the reminder of the earlier video. I have to say that I always found it pretty depressing - or a springboard for better things - you choose!.The open pit is now irrelevant (at least at Seki) and, for me, underground it reeks of being knackered/undercapitalised. eg: presumably the Chinese XCMG digger is representative of our H1 equipment unreliability - notably the two new pieces of July equipment are Western - CAT and a Swedish brand - both bought new and with maintenance contracts! And generally, with exceptions, some pretty dour faces......Cheers, tightfist

Indeed good news. Think confirmation of the loan will likely be the Y/E accounts.

Need to execute now as have some debt that needs regular servicing.

Foundations are certainly there now.

So, we finally have definitive confirmation of $9.1m to arrive tomorrow in cash - definitive confirmation on the $17m bank loan expected too - or maybe not!.After several years we have done with extreme focus on Financial Engineering; here's looking for far more speedy progress on physical Mine Engineering and operational planning/updates..Best foot forward, tightfist
