Hi folks,

This co looks interesting (TSX-V : RUU);

Looking to re-open an old rare earths mine. What are your thoughts? I like this bit

'Light Rare Earth Elements (LREEs) to Heavy Rare Earth Elements (HREEs) ratio of approximately 50/50'

Re: Greenland Minerals:

Strong buy recommendation from Uranium Letter of Amsterdam just received from GGG. See link for interesting read.

"we still view the shares of Greenland Minerals strongly undervalued and increase our next price objective from A$ 1.60 to A$ 2.00."

I'm surprised so few people seem to be following GWMG. Its own thread is barren. However, I'm happy to keep up with the news here, and thanks to TT and Wendy for your excellent info which continues to boost my meagre pension! ot forgetting Jack Lifton of course!

Re Molycorp, I do wonder what promises they may have made to their Japanese customers. They may
have raised expectations there that only GWMG might satisfy in the next year or two. JMHO.

Could well be on the cards, Bill - they might even have to offer a sensible price this time, instead of the derisory offer that GWM laughed at before....

VISITED MY PHARMACIST
With the new share offering that Molycorp has put out today for $500 million I am predicting that Molycorp will take another run at acquiring GWMG assets. I am getting my poison pills out and have seen my pharmacist to double my dose.

Spent 5 hours researching this over the weekend, great notes from Wendy Durham - I salute you!

Missed the share price of .75 had the order AM but my dealer couldn't get the price. In at .83 (UK premium GRR) - I think longer term this will not matter anyway when we're at 4+ in the next 3 years. Still gutting

Great Western Minerals Group Acquires 70.2% of Rareco Shares to Date

SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwire - Jan. 24, 2011) - Great Western Minerals Group Ltd. ("GWMG" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:GWG) (OTCQX:GWMGF) announces that it has, to date, acquired 70.2% of all outstanding shares (the "Rareco Shares") of Rare Earth Extraction Co. Limited ("Rareco").

As at today, GWMG has received and paid for 33,528,308 of the 47,764,700 Rareco shares outstanding. The offer for the remaining shares is open until February 28, 2011.

As previously announced (see GWMG Media Release of December 21, 2010: "Great Western Minerals Group Delivers Offer Circular To Rareco Shareholders"), GWMG made an all-cash offer for all remaining ordinary shares in Rareco that GWMG did not already own.

"This is a pivotal moment in the execution of GWMG's corporate strategy to become a fully integrated, global Rare Earth producer," said GWMG President and Chief Executive Officer Jim Engdahl. "We are extremely pleased to see this level of interest in tendering Rareco shares to Great Western Minerals Group."

IMHO - Byron's revenue target for GWGM in 2015 will be significantly exceeded, however, revenue for
later years appears fair. I have to confess that the possibility of a buyout had seemed unlikely heretofore. Byron's case for an North American buyer is well argued and soundly based. - Thanks TT.

If my order of cost calculation is correct, REE's are worth around $12Bn pa to the chinese economy.
(120,000T * 1000 * $100) and that's before value-added is applied.
