APPOINTMENT OF DISTRIBUTOR FOR KALIMANTAN, INDONESIA

Alternative Energy Limited (AIM:ALR), the Singapore based provider of green energy solutions, is pleased to announce that it has entered into a non-exclusive distribution agreement with P.T. Jaya Makmur Dian Persada ("JMD"), an Indonesian Company, for the distribution of its energy products throughout the Region of Kalimantan, Indonesia.

The distribution agreement is for an initial period of one year but runs thereafter from year to year dependant upon JMD achieving its sales targets. Initial sales targets for 2011 have been set by the parties in the distribution agreement at US$5,000,000 per annum.

JMD was established by founder Salim Lays in 1979 and has developed a broad based electrical engineering and distribution business in Kalimantan based from the Company's head office in Balikpapan, Kalimantan, Indonesia. Mr Salim Lays has several other businesses in forestry, rubber, mining and industrial machinery and is Chairman of a local business association. JMD's customers have included local governments and oil and mining companies such as Unocal, Vico, Total Indonesia and PT Badak Bontang (CNG).

In rolling out AEL's products JMD is working in partnership with PT Niefa Miemi Utama which is a specialist in low and medium voltage electrical work installations and has many years experience in the installation of street lighting and energy generation equipment in Indonesia, both for government and private sector projects.

Alternative Energy has been working with JMD for a number of months to test its products for the Indonesian markets and clear import regulations and these products are expected to be incorporated by JMD in a number of its ongoing projects.
