This is an excellent read from SL Investments

Cyberhub, see page 4 in attached for Life settlement Example

Established in 1990, SL has managed or advised over 30 collective investment vehicles comprising total assets valued in excess of $2.6bn. We have around 20 trained professionals, and an executive team who average 12 years’ experience in the sector. We specialise in investment products based primarily on Secondary Life Assets sourced in the UK and US. Our ‘full service’ solution includes product design and structuring, investment negotiation & acquisition, and all aspects of managing portfolios.

SL has been an important partner over the last 22 years, serving as investment advisor, and co-manager on 4 of our publicly listed Investment Trust Funds

” Peter Ingram, Allianz Global Investors

Life Settlements are a well established asset class; since 2008, policies acquired by SL Investment Management clients have achieved an average return of 8.3%.

Our broad and independent acquisition approach has the benefit of increasing competition between brokers. This results in downward pressure on commission payments to intermediaries, which is to the ultimate benefit of both the policy vendor and secondary investor. The level and quality of information provided from multiple sources also improves the overall quality of information in respect of each policy, enabling a better informed assessment to be made of the real underlying value to the investor.

Hi CYberH, not exactly sure of the break even or loss any PH get from selling on their policy. But think they may get back a mahority of their premiums. Have to loo kup this to be more sure.

I don't think they lose too much out otherwise it will be a wate of money selling at a huge loss

Based on the League tabe I posted today there is around 5x face value compared to the price they paid for the policies - but the new policy owner has to keep paying the policy premiums up until the person passes away, so they carry the longevity risk.

Priced as a sell if the times are correct, that would mean it's not a short trade. But who knows,

I don't believe that is the case.Friday, impatience. It's irrelevant to me in any way as this is LT.The problem is, everyone copies each other. Most investors lose money. They are sheep, listening to idiots.Do what the herd isn't and you will make money.

Only needs one to dump stock and the share price gets smashed. Very little free float.

I believe we have had a large seller for some time, the idea would be to sell into strength but obviously they are in a rush. Either that or we have an acquisition imminent and money has been raised
