mad - I thought "notes that" was a fairly standard format to report these things. Maybe I'm wrong.

But FW's business model is surely based on this approval happening: sometime, if not now. And Amazon and Alphabet are keen to be big players here.

'Notes that'. It's as if they don't have a clue what's going on and don't want to tell the market.

Allied Minds plc, the IP commercialisation company focused on early stage technology businesses, notes that Federal Communications Commission (FCC - the US radio, television, wire, satellite, and cable regulator) has approved an initial commercial deployment (ICD) of Citizen Band Radio Service (CBRS).

Allied Minds' portfolio company Federated Wireless is a pioneer in CBRS and this development will have a significant impact on the development of the business.

... but wasn't this expected anyway?

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BridgeComm, Inc., a leader in optical wireless communications (OWC) solutions and services, is pleased to announce it has signed a cooperative agreement with Saturn Satellite Networks Inc. (Saturn), a leader in high performance mini GEO Satellites. Saturn has introduced its "NationSat" satellites to address the needs of developing economies by employing advanced digital processing to increase flexibility, improve performance, and reduce weight thereby providing disruptive economics for customers. Saturn is also developing other disruptive communications solutions for a much broader range of services to their customers. BridgeComm will support Saturn's new communications architectures enabling secure, high-speed communications."Saturn Satellite Networks will provide services that are more closely associated with the terrestrial network nodes in terms of transparency and capabilities""As the first company to bring OWC to the commercial market, we are confident that our technology and overall communication systems support will enable Saturn to offer a unique solution with the added features of being both high-speed and secure," says BridgeComm CEO Barry A. Matsumori. "As we enter into a new era of 5G communications, OWC will be integral in bridging the existing connectivity gap, particularly in challenging environments to augment the capabilities already realized using RF technology.""Saturn Satellite Networks will provide services that are more closely associated with the terrestrial network nodes in terms of transparency and capabilities," says Saturn CEO Jim Simpson. "In addition, the performance of the network will surpass that of any existing space system, hence several key partnerships have been established; among them with BridgeComm."BridgeComm will work to provide Saturn with optical communications system design and systems engineering. BridgeComm will also support Saturn in key design parameters as well as with ground communications services. Finally, Saturn and BridgeComm will jointly work to support both commercial and US Government customer solutions.

Amazon Shows More Interest in 3.5GHz Wireless NetworksMike DanoNEWS ANALYSISMIKE DANO, Editorial Director, 5G & Mobile StrategiesAmazon said it plans to expand testing in the 3.5GHz CBRS spectrum band, but the company continues to keep the details of those tests under the cloak of secrecy. However, many of the new locations where Amazon is testing networks in the band are near its corporate offices.E-commerce giant Amazon has previously signaled its interest in wireless networks running in the 3.5GHz CBRS band. IEEE Spectrum reported last year of several Amazon requests to test 3.5GHz operations in two locations in California. Then, just last month, the company said it would conduct 3.5GHz tests in Sunnyvale, Calif., which GeekWire noted is where Amazon's Lab126 product development subsidiary is headquartered. The publication noted that Amazon's Lab126 is where the company developed products such as itsKindle ebook readers and Kindle Fire tablets. In its latest filing to the FCC requesting permission to conduct additional tests, Amazon acknowledged that it's planning to "conduct preliminary tests near its facilities located in Sunnyvale, California, so that it could obtain sufficient data to determine whether to continue and expand its research into CBRS technologies at other locations." The company said it is requesting permission to conduct additional tests "so that it will be prepared to expand its research as necessary to three other locations (in Arlington, VA; Herndon, VA; and Seattle, WA) and to continue its research at its initial location in Sunnyvale." The locations in Herndon and Seattle that are listed in Amazon's application are near its corporate offices, but the location listed in Arlington is in the Crystal City neighborhood near the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, and does not appear to be near any Amazon offices.Companies that file testing requests with the FCC typically do not provide details beyond the applications themselves. However, Amazon's tests could be related to its plans to offer cloud-native, private mobile networks in the CBRS band to developers, telecom operators, public sector operators, enterprises and others "for quick deployment of Industrial IoT applications, such as real-time surveillance, smart meters and worker safety monitoring." The company announced that offering -- along with partners Athonet, CommScope's Ruckus and Federated Wireless -- at its AWS re:Invent event last year.

At the last call, Woodford's holding was 52,108,765 (21.64%), having sold from 23.22%. I don't know how the shares are split between WPCT and WEIF. The evidence from some of his other smaller or illiquid holdings is a bounce once he's done.

Thanks - as you say nothing new - estimates ALM NAV at 95-105 currently but growing with the exciting developments at Fed and Hawkeye - all confirming ALM is undervaluedThe only interesting statement is this The Fund believes that the scale of share price discount has not been addressed by the board of Allied Minds and therefore intends to take appropriate action. Lets see what that means !

This pos going to about .20p. The liquidity is non existant, if anyone put a sell out for even 20k there would be no buyers, the real value is less than half if any of the larger holders have to unload. Only hope is break it up. Another Woodford dog.

Bluegrass Cellular aims to extend CBRS tests in Kentucky

Bluegrass, which offers service in Kentucky to over 175,000 customers, is working with Federated Wireless, which is providing the Spectrum Access System (SAS). Federated is among a handful of pioneers eager to start commercial services in the CBRS band. Google and CommScope also have been making preparations to offer SAS and Environmental Sensing Capabilities (ESC) services to enable sharing in the band.

Should mobile operators be scared if Google and Amazon become wireless service providers?

‘Amazon also has partnered with Federated Wireless, Athonet and Ruckus Wireless to build a private IoT network using CBRS to test out IoT applications.’
‘Verizon partnered with Ericsson, Qualcomm and Federated Wireless to test 4G over CBRS’
,Federated Wireless, CommScope, Nokia and Google have received FCC certification to be a Spectrum Allocation Server (SAS) that can programmatically assign a band to be used by an enterprise. Federated Wireless is a software company with a tool to allocate and manage spectrum in a shared-spectrum private LTE model,
