First time the share price has reached the bid price. No smoke without fire. Time to put up or shut up. Any new bidder would have to offer 65p, which could trigger a bidding war to 70p. I'd be happy for someone else to buy them at 70p as it would allow LDG to make a further tender offer for its own shares.

Some major shareholders have been accumulating whilst private shareholders have been selling. If there was another bidder out there, I'm sure they would have materialised by now. I don't see Dbay waking away, but they might add a couple of pennies to their bid

If there was zero chance of a counter offer they wouldn't be trading at such a small discount to offer price. Especially when the timetable will be months away yet. Arb funds will be aggressively buying here.

Horndean, the offer price is 62.5p , with a caveat that any dividend would be swallowed by them. So the stability of the price all day yesterday around 61p suggests that there is little hope for another offer . There is no timescale , and due diligence could take months.
Yes the value was higher in the past and takeovers that lose you money are annoying. My wife is £10k down on this holding , but it is part of the gamble of the market . Your holding is 35% up on yesterday, it could be worse. I am a half empty person but was not convinced that ALP was going back to a pound any time soon so now have the opportunity to put the same (reduced) money into something more promising. And there are some bargains around at the moment I think.

I think price so close to offer is implying potential for rivals to turn up. I wouldn't be surprised if DBAY outbid. Happened a few times in the past.
