23/12/2005 13:51 | Interestingly, Alea carries $238m of intangible assets on its balance sheet. It's hard to see how a run-off company can carry goodwill, so I expect a big write-off of intangibles at year-end. This may not have any practical implications, but it would give rise to a pretty scary headline loss. | effortless cool
23/12/2005 12:00 | Dear Para, IG know absolutely nothing like that in advance. If they were sneaky, they would not remain the bookmaker of choice. | handycam
23/12/2005 09:15 | they might be ready to pull the plug then. | 8para
23/12/2005 09:14 | Oh now they are.....Now at £500 a point. I will ratchet this as it goes down. | paddyfool

23/12/2005 07:51 | MT Glass, Regarding the strange trades we keep seeing on this stock, I added £100 to my short today. The corresponding 10,000 share trade went through in six blocks, the first one being recorded as a sell, then the price dropped for the next five, which went through as buys, then the price was put right up immediately after. I've np idea why this is happening, but I'm sure there must be a reason for it. EC | effortless cool

22/12/2005 17:52 | WR... I don't use traditional brokers anymore, all my transactions are done via cfd's these day's, whether long or short. It's suits me, but no doubt, not everyone. It give me far more leverage, albeit slightlier riskier! Just make sure you don't over expose yourself!! ohhh errrr...... | adeyberry

22/12/2005 16:41 | WR.... Hi! I use cfd's via IGMarkets. Although s/betting is probably better, as it's tax free! I find them very helpful, and their platform is easy to use! | adeyberry
22/12/2005 16:17 | Doh! Sorry - wasn't being facetious, was being thick ;o/ Haven't put in enough time to bother interpreting, except it obviously implies one particular trader doing all the same-sized (or same split ones) each time, and sometimes the near-identical broker code confirms that. Not always obvious which buy/sell column they belong in, other than the direction the price then moves. Similar behaviour several days a week lately. Daily total among the disguised lots is not huge, but if it's the same player each week I guess there's quite a lot gone through. | m.t.glass
22/12/2005 16:09 | Sorry, meant read as in interpret!! | holdontight
22/12/2005 16:07 | By clicking the Trades button up top ;o) (for the declared trades) And by having access to Level 2 for the MM positions. | m.t.glass
22/12/2005 16:06 | How do you read all that, MT? | holdontight
22/12/2005 16:04 | 698 proving a frequent lot today. And some feeble disguises of roundnumber trades (anything ending with ..67 going with another ending ..33 and some other combinations ;o) | m.t.glass
22/12/2005 15:59 | MMs all taken their bids down below a quid, 95.5p to 99p | m.t.glass
22/12/2005 15:32 | adey - which company do you recommend for (placing shorts) shorting please? cfd or sbet? thanks | white russian
22/12/2005 15:30 | Handycam... Point taken! I shall keep my impending glee to myself ;-) | adeyberry
22/12/2005 15:25 | Dear Ade and Hold, I have said before, it is wise not to rub one's hands in anticipation - especially in a public forum. The positions we all take are deadly serious and until they are squared no one has any reason to celebrate. The question one has to ask constantly is: can one square? Well, they ain't offered in fifty thou. Yours etc., | handycam
22/12/2005 15:00 | I knew it!!! Timber............ | adeyberry |
