Oz has risen to 134.3p equivalent overnight, so could attack your 130p barrier here today, Divina.

Oz up another 8% overnight to A$1.935 (=123.2p) augurs well for another good day here.

Im in. At the current share price v POG and better production news there appears to be plenty of upside!

A very much improved report compared to the setbacks of 2011 - hopefully now well behind us.

divina - The current low interest in this company is one of its attractions.
On the basis of the forecast being only 90% achieved we are grossly undervalued. If it can produce a marginal over-delivery (and I hope they have left at least a small safety margin) it could treble on a maintained pog of over $1650/oz imho.

Production in the quarter was the second highest on record and the Company remains on track to achieve full year output of 180,000 ounces. That compares with 108,000 ounces in 2011, and confirms that Allied Gold is moving firmly in the right direction, with strong production growth leading to a reducing cost profile.
============================

beggars belief when the share price is at these levels...... nearly doubled production over 2011 with pog well over $1600 i really have no idea what the market wants from this company for it to give it a half just half a decent valuation....

Allied never have raped and pillaged the land
and if it was not for them the locals would still
be in the dark ages....

Some positive news out of Simberi - though a note of sarcasm from the author which is to be expected:

One group of locals on Simberi Island have come out strongly in support of the Simberi mine operator, Allied Gold, endorsing the company's operating track record and environmental management standards.

Henry Salin, the spokesperson of the ML136 landowner group within the Allied Gold mining lease, says that the vast majority of landowners on the island are very pleased with Allied Gold.

"We have a strong relationship with the company," said Mr Salin.

"Allied Gold has made a major contribution to Simberi and its people over the past five years, and it continues to invest in the development of the project.

"We want Allied to continue to operate the mine for many years into the future," he said.

The company says it has paid approximately K12.8 million in royalties to landowners on Simberi and neighbouring islands over the five years of mine operation and an additional K1.4 million of royalties have been paid directly to the Local Level Government of Sentral Niu Ailan.

Allied Gold managing director Frank Terranova said the company had invested approximately K450 million in the Simberi mine over the past five years, and was currently well advanced in a major expansion of the plant that would lift production rates and increase royalty payments to the local community.

"Our track record of environmental management this year has been exemplary, and wild allegations of tailings leaks earlier this year were completely wrong.

"Let me state categorically, there has been no tailings leak this year, no fish killed and no breach of environmental standards," he said.

This is why the targeted March Q production increases at both Goldridge and Simberi are so important.
Also we are due to have the bunker oil generator come on line at Simberi this year.

Rasta - That is a large part of their problem, which will only be solved when production gets up towards target. This will never be low cost but a good volume to spread overheads and deprec/amort expenses is needed for target cost to be achieved.
The latest dip may well be aggravated by end-year portfolio adjustment effects - we may find out after start of new fy.
