Bridggar.... Price is set on supply and demand.

Example - You supply oranges to California, you have four equal competitions, you all list on the stock exchange at the same price.

You harvested all oranges Friday your stock closed at a dollar a share. Your four competitors didn't harvest yet and a hurricane ruined the entirety of their crop.

Monday morning what do you think the share price will open at for the company and then the other four orange growers? Knowing that the market instantly valued you as more the second the hurricane hit your competitors and you can charge double per orange because people will now pay more to get one as they are more rare.

I'd say it's obvious at the opening or within the first few trades the market will increase your price massively and reduce theres. This wasn't on buys or sells, the other four may still hold long term confidence and buys equal sells no actual movement in your way of thinking but still their value and price drops.

Many many reasons, maybe an institution or MMs just varied the price to try find some interest and make itself some money, low on a Monday high on a Friday, maybe the wind blew a certain way or something....
