25/7/2024 14:17 | Indeed. Been waiting for the opportunity to get back in which I did this morning at 105. | ashwani01
25/7/2024 12:11 | Devaluations aside, these are really great results! Just a shame this business is so exposed to the basket case that is today’s Nigeria. Salty. | saltaire111
23/7/2024 19:12 | Running out of steam at the minute. | saltaire111
09/5/2024 19:00 | The company/business seems well run still. Too bad of the extreme devaluation of mostly the Naira past 12 months. Hopefully this stabalises, but that's outside of the company's control. What's in their control is to shift USD denominated debt to local currency debt, whhich they're doing. Also good to see how quickly they've simultaniously made progress on reducing the useless debt at HoldCo (completely gone this month). The buyback program is also very welcome at these valuations. With HoldCo debt gone, more room should be freed up. Hopefully next priorities are a mix of debt reduction in local currencies and more buybacks as long as the stock remains cheap. And of course progress on an ipo or spin off for Airtel/Mobile Money would be a huge value unlock. | luweiluwei
09/5/2024 16:05 | The fog is really all about the governance of the countries in which the company operates. If the governments get their act together, there’s a fabulous opportunity for Africa to continue its development into a substantial economic force. But they keep blowing it. | saltaire111
09/5/2024 13:53 | Indeed...would be good to see some progress on the Mobile money spin off. I will keep on the sidelines and learning from afar. Possible value on offer but lots of fog.. | dexterburt1
09/5/2024 13:45 | AA is a fabulous business in a dodgy market. | saltaire111
09/5/2024 08:04 | Still a massive write off on Forex issues, until that is sorted, Imo sort of relying on share buybacks to keep share price up? Views? DYOR | qs99
28/4/2024 17:17 | I guess despite the currency devaluation they've managed to grow USD earnings and have suggested they'll be able to manage further devaluation through growth. More problematic seems the ability to repatriate cash and the effective tax rates. The headwinds are more than priced I'd say. Good write up here:https://www.bir | dexterburt1
15/4/2024 18:06 | Just looked at this for the first time. Tricky analysis: AAF earns income in depreciating currencies and pays for the infrastructure in hard currencies. FY23 accounts shows its debt is two-thirds in USD, but probably that will fall when the $550m of head office debt is paid down in May. This problem will not go away as their expectation is for technology obsolescence every ten years so a new round of capex - importing the latest tech - will be needed in hard currency again. YoY revenues in constant currencies are rising strongly, but it doesn't appear to have the ability to raise rates easily in Nigeria, where the black market rate FX and market FX rates have recently been equalised, halving the balance sheet value of AAFs assets. Are the market rates and black market rates already diverging again? Who knows? Nigeria is 40% of revenues and similar shares of EBITDA and capex. Also, I don't know how they lost $245m on their FX hedges: I'd have expected them to pay out when the currency was devalued?? Unless this is a loss on the translation of their foreign assets into USD after devaluation, and is just inaccurately described? Too complicated/difficul | 5teadyeddie
13/4/2024 12:27 | The July 2022 highs around 165p would prob equate to 180p area today with the amount of buybacks since then. This will be comfortably hit 200p in next 12 months IMO. GLA. | hamhamham1
04/4/2024 08:51 | (Sharecast News) - Indian Continent Investment, a firm linked to Airtel Africa non-executive director Shravin Bharti Mittal, added to its stake in the telecommunications group ahead of the Easter break. On 28 March, the firm purchased approximately 1.140m shares, at £1.0593 apiece, through the London Stock Exchange. The total transaction amount reached £1,207,338.17. It followed a flurry of other large share purchases throughout the latter half of the second quarter. | wsm812
26/3/2024 16:18 | These are huge purchases, presume that is a good sign directors spending so much money? DYOR and IMO! views? With further share buy-backs, should we see this trend back towards £1.20? | qs99
26/3/2024 15:50 | Interesting, decent size purchases. | qs99

19/3/2024 21:25 | This is some collapse. Always knew there was risk, but this is not a small company. | saltaire111
19/3/2024 17:41 | The seller continues | cupra kid
15/3/2024 15:59 | Certainly appear cheap at these levels. I'm in at £1.05 so I'm tempted to top up as it pushes forward P | peddlers
15/3/2024 15:21 | At least with that Singapore Slinger out of the way the share price shouldn't be held back anymore. | wsm812
14/3/2024 08:09 | Bought in at a lower price than they are buying themselves! haha | wsm812
13/3/2024 17:13 | Interesting news about potential listing on money side, could be $4bn value alone. Ridiculously undervalued company currently. | hamhamham1
29/2/2024 11:59 | Im in at this price. Great potential. | sig1978
27/2/2024 15:39 | Bought in today @ 94p. This will double that in 18 months IMO. | hamhamham1 |
