AIB Group plc
Central Bank of Ireland Countercyclical Buffer Requirement
AIB Group plc notes the introduction of a CCyB of 1% by the Central Bank of Ireland to be applied from 5(th) July, 2019. Based on current exposures this would have the impact of increasing AIB's capital requirements by 0.71%. AIB is very well capitalised (17.1% Fully Loaded CET1 at end Q1 2018) and comfortably in excess of minimum capital requirements. The Bank has a fully loaded CET1 target ratio of 13%, we continue to believe this is appropriate.
