This is very much like a MySpace/Google/bitcoin early situation.
The potential is huge, and Anic are good at getting in to the private funding rounds. High risk for potentially an extremely high return if you have a 5+ year outlook. Though saying that they've done more than pretty well in the short term.

I must say in the short term I called this completely wrong. Hey ho.

Personally, I will be holding for at least 2 years but maybe more. I really think this is going to be massive.

If you buy the basic story here then you are likely looking to hold for a decade. What is interesting is that the company will be able to raise new funds at a much higher price than before. Which could become a virtuous circle.

have a look at BlueNalu which is one of the companys that Jim Mellon put our hard earned into....they have just received a huge investment from Japanese Government and Mitsubishi

hxxps://www.bluenalu.com/press-room

Anic do not have to offically declare that interest to LSE ,( as they have already stated that they are into Bluenalu) but it must impact ANIC share price by the fact that various governments are investing heavily

Also have a look on internet ( you have to search hard) but a professional forecaster has said that 100 dollars invested now in Anic could well be worth over 8000 dollars by 2026.

Recent articles are 16th April Moneyweek had an article on Moo's Law and the rise of engineered food. Nothing else really apart from the massive expected Oatly valuation which has peaked interest in the sector.

That could account for the £xxxx-£xxxxx trades. The £xxx trades are people buying into the risers.

Latest nav cannot support this share price alone, so maybe someone is building up a significant stake?

Unless you are privy to private funding rounds, Anic is the only way to get exposure to the sector atm. Though does the premium justify it compared to other investments?

As a comparison, I'm following Itm fuel cells and their share price is massively above any earnings for the next couple of years. Maybe in 3+ years they can justify the current share price if they expand massively. Same here. You're buying in to the potential in a few years time.

I wonder what the sudden interest is? Has someone tipped them or are people just waking up?

This is an interesting documentary; worth watching if you are like me and planning to hold long term. I can see ANIC being massive! It's on amazon prime and I'm not an affiliate so will not get commission for anyone who clicks through. Just think it's a good watch.

Climate change is driving the need to explore ever increasing ways to reduce global warming. I can only see this getting bigger when Joe public wakes up to the idea of clean meats. How they market these products will obviously have an impact and we are already seeing tv advertising for these products. All good as far as I can see.

I think chicken and fish are the easy wins. Chicken because morally it feels dubious to many to kill a bird for a couple of breasts, which is all a lot of people eat. And fish because of damage to the oceans. For younger generations who are more health focussed they are the preferred proteins anyway, and the uniformity of texture in chicken breast and fish probably make them easier to replicate too

anoxic,
Thanks, I will never give up being a carnivore but I can see my self eating less supermarket meat and eating more butcher's meat which is so obviously locally grown and decently raised. More expensive yes - but better quality all round. Will make up by finding cell-ag and vegetable alternatives. I can already see my children and grandchildren already eating a lot less of what I call traditional foods. I am 72.And in a few years this change will be enormous starting in the developed world and then the developing world. ANIC will succeed as they focus on picking the strong businesses in this area. GLTAH. DYOR etc.

I tried "Roast tender strips" chicken made by "naked glory" and it was very close to chicken in flavour and texture. I can really see this type of product taking off
