11/4/2013 07:51 | Good post Jimmy12345 | the count of monte_cristo
10/4/2013 22:01 | its investment scruff, the money has been spent on capital expenditure ie building the biggest slaughterhouse in moz, building a dam on the cattle ranch to ensure regular suply of water, building a herd to 10,000, purchasing land and plantng out crops that take a few years to get any payback, building huge maize silos for the maize buying buisness. the company has not stopped spending, and is continuing to spend on capital projects. this year i expect a good profit on the maize operation that appears to be mature now, and not needing capital expenditure. the buisness is also running at full tilt, so unless they are going to spend somewhere within this buisness it should make a decent profit now. the cattle ranch is still building to 10,000 head. however its fast getting there. and the new ranch is also increasing its head count. the infastructure is in place on the larger ranch, so only a matter of building the head of cattle before you can draw off cattle for sale while maintaining the 10,000 head. i believe everything else pretty much in place there. i suspect this will make a loss this year but profit year after. the slaughterhouse is massive this i suspect will take quite a time to make any money and will be dependant on bought in cattle mainly for a good while yet. however i think this will be the jewel in agriterras crown, they have build big with the future in mind, and running at full tilt will be massive turn-over. the shops will help all this out in the field to fork agenda agriterra have. i believe these aint butcher shops in the uk sense ie little high street shops, but more meat wholesalers with a retail front end supplying hotels and mines and food manufacturers ect and the general public. i think our bananas and cocoa ect will help with the cashflow this year. palm oil takes about 5 years from seed to first production and 7-8 before full production, this is gonna cost, and cost lots with a long timeframe before payback. the area is mostly scrub the size of greater manchester and its going to cost millions to clear/plant/produce and over a good few years. however the money from palm oil for an area like that will be massive, totaly massive equivelent to a decent oil field, and this could be a bit of a drag on the profits depending how big they go at it at first. exciting times here. | jimmy12345
10/4/2013 21:27 | New here so just asking. Have the operations been loss making or is it investment in associated infrastructure that have given an appearance of operation loss? | scruff1
10/4/2013 18:04 | Well all the money they have, will be invested in operations that has so far been l?ss making, that's why the cash is not viewed with as much enthusiasm | vyke82
10/4/2013 16:02 | Nice rise today :) | jimmy12345
10/4/2013 14:21 | Here's the thing, these were 3p when I first bought in about a year ago when they didn't have two pennies to rub together. Now their only 2.5p with all that money in the bank and probably more to come! Puzzling. | oiht
10/4/2013 12:16 | As announced previously, Agriterra continues to await payment of GBP11m, being partial recompense for work already undertaken and the substantial investment made by the Company on the Block Ba oil concession area in South Sudan, during its previous incarnation as White Nile Limited Does anyone know what's happening with this claim? And is it included in latest Interims Balance Sheet. I assume not? Thanks | ghhghh
10/4/2013 09:28 | You only lose money if you sell and crystalise the loss, otherwise its a paper loss. Are you looking to sell soon SITIAIN? I intend to hold these for years, unless of course there is some kind of mania and massive spike, where the share price goes up 100s of % in a very short space of time then of course I would sell.... Just wondering about next years elections in Moz, their will almost certainly be instability during this period until the elections are completed. One of my risks about this stock is the focus (its also a positive due to the expsoure to one of the fastest growing economies on the planet) on Mozambique, if there was some severe polictical instability this would be a negative for the stock. However that being said after decades of poverty and instability does Moz really want to take steps backwards? Or do they want to continue moving forwards with the development os the massive Gas and Coal assets they have which will boost growth tremendously? | the count of monte_cristo
10/4/2013 08:58 | yorkie52.. BIG SPIKE you have to be joking. i dont often get fed up when i lose money. but im really starting to wonder what this lot are up from a PR prespective. | sitiain
09/4/2013 20:49 | Sudan assets can be worth $18.5 m + potential $10 m from Marathon and some tax should be back from the $12m deposit given to Ethiopian government. Loads of cash, only need to grow. | vyke82
09/4/2013 19:21 | Big spike late today. Is this a sign of some positive news on the money owed to us? Are we due a trading update? | yorkie52
09/4/2013 16:27 | The Count's two links illustrate both the rewards and the risks of investing in Africa. We can only hope for the good of both Mozambique and our company that it doesn't escalate, it would be such a shame. I also read this morning about a healthy increase in emigrating Portuguese back to Moz. | oiht
09/4/2013 15:36 | vyke, according to the Africa Oil RNS dated 14/01/2013 it looks like the Sabisa was spudded by Tullow on 13/01/2013. Planned total depth of 2,600 metres which should have taken 60 days, but approx. three weeks late and still no news? Like you say $10m due if commercial success which is why I cant understand why the share price has done nothing but sink the past couple of weeks.....would have thought it to be the time for it to rise in expectation.... | 4sta
09/4/2013 15:27 | I read that as well count, does look good for us there dont it? Our butcher shop/ wholesalers will be doing well there you cant import prime steaks | jimmy12345
09/4/2013 14:20 | Tullow spudding ethiopia has durect interest for AGTA, bc if commercial Discovery is made, AGTA is due $10m from Marathon Oil | vyke82
09/4/2013 14:02 | vyke, Try the tullow BB. | tday
09/4/2013 11:49 | Does anybody know when tullow is spudding ethiopia ? | vyke82
09/4/2013 10:46 | Ah!! I've just checked the last OTC rns. They share the same publicity firm - St Brides Media & Finance Ltd. Lets hope they send it to the correct company! | ged5
09/4/2013 10:22 | "Thank you for contacting Ortac"???? | king suarez
09/4/2013 10:11 | I've just e-mailed the company using their contact link on the website. I received this message. "Thank you for contacting Ortac. Your email has been successfully sent and we will endeavour to respond as soon as possible." Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know an e-mail address for the company? | ged5
09/4/2013 09:41 | to get back to AGTA - this is beyond daft. If anyone has PE's email add, tell him to pull his finger out and buy some stock! | old tyke
08/4/2013 18:04 | Ah well, close is now indicative of 2.17p support. | gerri-c
08/4/2013 17:55 | There is instability in Mozambique . Could be the reason of the fall. But this is valued at par with cash. | vyke82 |
