Great post from Uplift onLSE

Opening Price?

I don't think many people realise how big this will be when trading resumes.... At 80p this was priced for admin... Anyone invested here for from a year+ ago would know that & anyone who has researched for a year+ would know that too. A deal is taking place. All this waiting is painful but will reward. The brave & wise long termers will not sell for a couple of years. That will be when the market will be in full recovery mode due to the supply / damand rebalance & iron ore price recovery.... A conservative $90 per tonne, producing 25mtpa, hematite concentrator in place...,Optimum efficiency reached with synergies between Marampa & Tonkolili mines.... 60 year mine life.... Phase 3.development... Europe potential.... This is what provides the valuation of the mine..... The BOD, GOSL & the major investors all HAVE to agree to the size & value of the stake sale. SISG have first refusal of the stake but they will not risk loosing their existing 25% stake by not being sensible with their offer. Also AMI would not under any circumstances loose their controlling stake so SISG will not squire any more than 25% in my opinion. A minimum of $500m is required for AMI to survive this & any future down turns in the market by becoming a 'true' low cost producer.

Would Shandong require Timis & AMI ore samples to prove that they can be mixed as a sellable product?

Just speculation however the below of interest Dear fellow staff members, I am pleased to announce that the company is now in a position to pay the additional 7% of your annual leave allowance payment over and above the 5% already paid in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, with immediate effect. This should be in your bank accounts within the next five (5) working days. The company wishes you a very prosperous New year

Certainly hope so. If IO is going up we are probably already seeing the impact of a top 10 producer being out of the market.

Timis & Watling in HK today meeting with SISG.

I would expect news tomorrow or this week at least.

In my opinion they will not part with any more than 24% of the mine as they would not want to loose their controlling stake. Admin would be better for Timis than that. SISG would know that & it is in their interests to play ball or else loose their initial $1.5bn investment.

thanks earnest

shipping rates have halved in the last month, in my part of the world anyway, which will help exporters.

tonkolili certainly is a world class asset

On behalf of a poster on lse:Not sure if this spells good news or not but the usual 12% xmas bonus that AMI workers receive had been reduced to 5% under C&M. They have just been notified that the remaining 7% will be paid this month. Interesting..........Have AMI come into some $$$$ ??
